Murder mystery starts this April on Alibi |
WHAT'S THE STORY
Jack Wright (Trevor Eve)
is a powerful and successful businessman, who leaves his family in
disarray when they learn of his suicide. When the
provisions of Jack’s
final will and testament are made known, his third wife, Sally (Nikki Amuka-Bird), and two sons, Gray (John Simm) and John
(Daniel Rigby), are shocked to discover they have been largely cut out of Jack’s enormous fortune. As DCI Morgan (Harry Lloyd) and DC Jones (Liz
Kingsman)
delve further into the case, they realise Jack’s cause of death was in
fact murder. Their sights turn to the Wright family, where the mother of
all
feuds is beginning. As each family member becomes more reckless and
desperate in their bid to own a piece of Jack’s legacy, dark secrets
and
resentments are revealed with explosive consequences. Gemma Jones
stars as Rose Wright. This new series is a propulsive, darkly comic and
moving
murder mystery family drama which offers many twists and turns
as one family deals with treachery and hidden agendas from all involved.

None of the actors looks familiar to me...maybe Trevor Eve, but I can't remember in what series. We started Yellowstone yesterday and stopped it after 30 mins...actually we watched it before but didn't continue...just not our thing, I guess. The Accident from Mexico is one the watch list now. Did your tulips survive?
ReplyDeleteIf you watch British shows and films you have seen most of them many times, you just don't know their names.
DeleteThey have, although I did bring about three dozens inside in three or four vases around the palace. But it is very cold and I have even seen a couple of snowflakes flying around ten minutes ago. I am not sure the fruit trees have survived these temps as our apricots were already killed two weeks ago when it was minus five or six one night just when they were in full bloom. So no apricosen these jahre.
Money does bring out the ugly in a family. Sometimes I'm glad we are poor. We ain't getting anything when someone dies and we ain't leaving anything behind when we die. No fighting for inherited wealth in these parts.
ReplyDeleteWe do fight for the house because here it is the only way to own a house.
DeleteIt seems like that's the direction the US is going as well. We bought our first home at 28 years old, which was a little on the early side for home ownership. These days, most kids don't move out of their parent's house and into a rental until they are 28. With the rising cost of living, I do not see home ownership attainable for the next generation. The only way they will get homes is by inherited wealth. Allison will get ours as stated in our will. Mariah will be left to fend for herself. And at the rate she's going barely affording her apartment now, she'll never own a home of her own.
DeleteWhy isn't Mariah getting half of it? We are going backwards in everything, not just economy, it is almost as we are going back to feudal times and lawlessness.
DeleteMariah insists that she wants nothing from us when we pass, and we will totally honor her wishes. On top of that, when you remove yourself from a family and cut off contact, you are no longer entitled to any wealth thereafter. Allison has been in the trenches with us putting her blood, sweat and tears into this family. She's nursed me through some health struggles, she's helped run a tight ship to keep the house in order, and she's been my number 2 asset in growing my business behind Jason. Mariah wants nothing to do with the family while we are alive, she will not benefit from our struggles after we are gone.
DeleteYou could at least leave her you diamonds and tiaras LOL
DeleteIt makes me sad, I still think kids always deserve to get their part of the inheritance no matter whether they spoke with the parents or not, because parents still brought them to this world. We just had a case of a second wife of our dead folk music singer who went to court because she wouldn't share what he had with his three sons just because they did not talk with him. I still think they deserve the part.
I don't agree that one deserves anything just because they are born into a certain family. I gave them life, raised them to be productive members of society, and paid for their higher education, something that I was never able to afford for myself. I sent them into the world with the tools they needed to make their own fortunes, they are not entitled to mine when I am gone. How you treat your family while they are alive should indicate whether or not you get an inheritance. It's like when the rich people leave their money to the maid or nurse because they paid more attention to them than their own family did. I agree with how Warren Buffet handles his wealth in that he does not give money to his family, but he will pay for their education. Education opens so many doors, one should not expect more after that gift has been generously given, especially if you don't make time for those people while they are still alive.
DeleteThat is because you live in a country where being productive can take you places, but not here, sadly.
DeleteParece que vai ser uma boa série com temas interessantes como drama familiar, traição, assassinato, Dezmond abraços.
