THIS NEW TV SERIES IS SET
In the spring of 1959, when thirteen people were stuck by a violent storm on a
small islet near Mallorca. Any of them could anticipate what is about
to happen at the small hotel where they’re staying: Elisa Mander, a
discreet British tourist, is found dead. What initially seems like a
suicide soon raises
unsettling signs — it may in fact be murder. Basil, a
retired actor once famous for portraying none other than Sherlock Holmes
on the big screen, finds
himself unexpectedly tasked with unraveling
the case. In a place no one can leave, and no one can reach, every guest
and staff member becomes a suspect in a crime that grows more intricate
and twisted by the minute.

German LOVES Mallorca. Might watch it if we ever resub. Netflix again.
ReplyDeleteGermans love Mallorca and Swedes Capri LOL
DeleteI'd don't think I'll rush to see this, but I'll probably add it to my Netflix queue.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem posh and ellegante.
DeleteMallorca has more fame than substance. I’m not really drawn to the actors; they feel too overused for this kind of plot. But for those who don’t know them, it might work. I’ll leave this one for others.
ReplyDeleteMy daily hug.
Thought you would like it since it is from Spain where there is no rain. Returning the hug with the aroma of forest fruits of my todays body mist :)
DeleteYes, yes, I might have liked it. José Coronado is a good actor, but what I meant is that these are actors who are used a lot for this kind of film, and I prefer seeing them in different roles. It is also true that Arturo Pérez-Reverte has written good novels, and the ones adapted for the screen have not been bad. Maybe I did not explain myself well in my comment. I find it very hard to watch films with Maribel Verdú in them. A hug, and thank you for the Spanish detail.
DeleteIt is the same here, we also always have the same actors put in films and shows, it is extremely tiring especially as most of the younger ones aren't even good. I wish there was Yon Gonzalez in it, as he is my fave of the Spanish actors and makes me watch everything he is in LOL
DeleteI’m not a big fan of Spanish cinema. It has some very good films (one day I’ll tell you about them privately, and also some good series ) but very few of them get a high rating from me. It seems to have improved a bit in recent years, but it is still far from my expectations.
DeleteI only watch your period set series when I can catch them which is almost never, I watched, and covered here, La Peste, Beguinas, Cathedral of the Sea and the sequel Heirs to the Land, but lately nobody torrents them anymore so it is difficult to find them with subs.
DeleteOf films, the latest one I watched was CAUTIVO historical movie on Servantes imprisoned in Algiers. It was both dreadfully boring and kinda sexy LOL I found Julio Pena and Alessandro Borghi hot a a couple.
