CHANNEL 5 UNVEILS CAST FOR THE TRIAL TV DRAMA ABOUT A FUTURE UK IN WHICH PARENTS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S CRIMES

   CHANNEL 5 REVEALS
CAST FOR NEW TV FILM THE TRIAL
And it is about something I've always said needs to be instated! Channel 5 has announced THE TRIAL 60 minute TV film set in the United Kingdom in the not too near future! It follows Dione and David Sinclair, a couple thrust into a nightmarish legal battle when their teenage daughter, Teah, commits a serious crime. Under a radical new law, parents are no longer just bystanders in their children’s actions they are directly accountable. They now face relentless interrogation as every aspect of their parenting, lifestyle, and past decisions are scrutinised. If found guilty, they could face life behind bars. Claire Skinner and Ben Miles play the embattled parents, struggling to defend themselves against a system that sees them as perpetrators rather than victims. Their interrogator, the relentless and unyielding Sarah Willis, is played by Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Jaz Hutchins is Lieutenant Simons, with India Fowler as the troubled teenage daughter Teah Sinclair.

  1. The campaign slogan of one of the political parties here also said that parents should be responsible for the actions of their children. That's pretty unfair and dangerous. I meant, I agree they should hold accountable for children to a certain degree, but definitely not going so far that they have to go to the prison. This can be an interesting series.

    1. What do you mean unfair, if they raised a criminal who steals or kills, they are the ones responsible for it and should go to jail or pay. There would be committees deciding in special cases, but generally I think this would change the world for the better because parents would be forced to watch their children and raise them right. We have kids here with more than 800 breeches of law and they always let them go because you cannnot jail kids, but you could jail their parents and make them responsible.

  2. I have no problem with this. Here if kids skip school parents are called and can even be summoned to court and get fines. But last year 2 parents were sentenced to 10 years after their kid shot up a school. More parents should be held responsible for their kids.

    1. Absolutely, it is time for parents to take responsibility for their brats.
