MAXIMILIAN AND CARLOTTA
SERIES FINDS ITS WRITER
The four part mini series on the last emperor of Mexico has found its writer at High End productions: as Deadline reports William Boyd will pen the
$20 million epic series MAXI MILIAN AND CARLOTTA on the tragic life of Emperor Maximilian of Mexico and his wife Charlotte of Belgium, which will start shooting next year in Austria, Northern Italy, France and Mexico! The young Hapsburg, who was Kaiser Franz Josef’s brother, and his Belgian princess allowed themselves to be persuaded by Napoleon III to sail to the other end of the world in 1864. They sought to do justice to both their own progressive ideals and the political interests of the major European powers as rulers of the Mexican people and were used as political pawns in European colonial politics.
The series will be done in four episodes |
THE CHRISTIE AFFAIR
MINI SERIES ON AGATHA
The book hasn't been released yet |
I'm not sure about the mini series, but you can at least count me in on that book! When does the book come out? How fictionalized is it?
ReplyDeleteI've no idea when it is out, sadly.
DeleteI've seen other reimagining of that famous dissappearance, but I would be interested in "The Other Woman"s perspective. I'm thrilled about the Mama Carlota series, it's getting to seem to be a viable project.
ReplyDeleteIt seems it will be very rich as 5 million per episode is quite a lovely sum. GOT was made with ten per each.
DeleteFirst reading the book! Things about the Agatha Christie are always attract me.
ReplyDeleteShe is very popular around the world.
DeleteI'm also one who would probably prefer the book, where thoughts of the characters give way more insight than a screen ever could.
ReplyDeleteBut hands down, series adaptations are usually much better than the movie ones.
DeleteYou have that right!
DeleteThey have more time to do it right.
