'THE FINAL PORTRAIT' TRAILER
STARRING GEOFFREY RUSH AND ARMIE HAMMER
Two drama trailers for you today, both depicting unusual male relationships in a very interesting way, starting with the first one for THE FINAL PORTRAIT which Stanley Tucci both wrote and
directed, out August in UK and Germany.
His "Pointing Man" was sold for ridiculous $126 million |
Geoffrey Rush plays Swiss painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti
who, back in Paris, 1964, bumps into his old friend, the American
critic, James Lord (Armie Hammer), and begs that he sits for a portrait
because he has an interesting face. It'll just take a couple of days in
his studio. Lord is flattered by the request and as the days go by and
turn into weeks and weeks seemingly with no end in sight he realises his
entire life has been hijacked by this erratic genius. The portrait
continues to ebb and flow. Veering between frustration and joy, Lord
ultimately sees logic in the artist's chaotic mind and together we
witness a genius complete one of his last masterpieces.
'GOD'S OWN COUNTRY'
GORGEOUS FIRST TRAILER OUT!
Another beautiful drama, out September 1st, just got its first trailer too - GOD'S OWN COUNTRY! Spring. Yorkshire. Isolated young sheep farmer Johnny Saxby (Josh O'Connor) numbs his daily frustrations
with binge drinking and casual sex, until the arrival of a Romanian migrant worker Gheorghe (Alec Secareanu), employed for the lambing season, ignites an intense relationship that sets Johnny on a new path.
Both actors lived on a farm for several weeks before shooting the film |
I think I'll skip the painter one but British Brokeback Mountain looks pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI'm all giddy with excitement about God's Own Country!
DeleteGod's Own Country does look good. I mean, who doesn't love a little binge drinking an casual sex before someone comes along and makes you toss all those wily ways into the toilet?
ReplyDeleteand the two of them do look like the cutest and sexiest of couples! It seems the team behind the movie is lovely as well, as both the director and some other production members have liked the tweet on this post
DeleteDefinitely not my normal viewing preferences, but both sound like they could be good. I'll have to keep an eye open for them.
ReplyDeletescroll down, maybe you find something according to your taste!
DeleteDid you say... casual sex? There's no such thing, is there....
ReplyDeleteYes, that's a trick question, so what. :p
I truly would not know, although I wish I had it
DeleteUh, didn't Blue go to college? If he didn't learn about casual sex there, he certainly didn't get his monies worth ;)
DeleteI got zero sex at college, hug me please :(((( I don't think all colleges are as crazy as American ones, though ... but then again, I was studying while NATO bombs were falling over our heads, so there's that as well....
