at Netflix, there is another Australian series ready to hit the small screens: THE LAST DAYS OF THE SPACE AGE eight part series will start on Disney + October 2nd!  

 

  EIGHT PART SERIES 

follows three families in a tight-knit coastal community who find their marriages, friendships and futures put to the test. It's the end of an era, and everything is about to change. Set in 1979 Western Australia, with a global beauty pageant contest creating a media frenzy and a power strike that threatens to plunge the region into darkness, history is at a turning point. But that’s nothing compared to the drama these seemingly ordinary families are enduring, in a town which will never be the same: American space station Skylab crash lands on earth just outside the city, as the city is gearing up to host the Miss Universe pageant.

 

 WHO IS IN THE CAST?

Radha Mitchell and Jesse Spencer lead the cast as wife and husband, Judy and Tony Bissett. Deborah Mailman and Linh-Dan Pham are their neighbours Eileen Wilberforce and Sandy Bui. ED SKREIN AS THE REGENT

Ed Skrein will be the galactic regent

And it is an unexpected move, as Ed Skrein is actually replacing Rupert Friend in the role of a galactic tyrant in Zack Snyder's science fiction epic REBEL MOON that he is shooting for Netflix. Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee and Rhian Rees have also joined the rather hunky ensemble of actors that already includes Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou and Alfonso Herrera! The story of the new sf epic is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, so they send a young woman (Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them raise a fight.

Disney + has unveiled three series that they will shoot within their Australian slate. THE CLEARING will cover Australian cult The Family and its founder Anne Hamilton Byrne, one of the few female cult leaders in history.
