The special finds the world faced with a holiday cheer crisis, which the North Pole knows only one person can solve: Santa’s great friend, Mariah Carey. Combining musical performances, dancing and animation, the show has Carey saving the day. The show will feature some of her celebrity friends and also a new song Oh, Santa with the show also getting a whole new soundtrack. Will it be Mariah's 20th Billboard Number One single? It's been a bloodbath of a week for multicam sitcoms: CBS cancelled Murphy Brown, Fam, Happy Together, and Fox their Cool Kids. When it comes to this year's pilots, ABC has passed on Katey Sagal's Nana, CBS on Katherine Heigl's Our House and David Walton's The Story of Us and Briga Heelan's To Whom It May Concern, Fox on Patty's Auto, NBC on Zach Cregger's Friends in Law! 

UNITED WE FALL  
ABC has, however, ordered UNITED WE FALL multicam to series. Starring Will Sasso, Christina Vidal, Jane Curtin and Jason Michael Snow, it is a profoundly realistic, multicultural family sitcom that shows how, when two people with young children and overzealous extended families truly love each other, barely anything is possible.

In one of our previous reports on new multicam sitcom pilot orders I told you that Netflix has placed an eight episode order for the first Christmas season of MERRY HAPPY WHATEVER comedy in which Dennis Quaid will play Don Quinn, a strong willed patriarch who must balance the demands of his complicated family with the stress of the Christmas season when his youngest daughter comes home for the holidays with a new boyfriend. Now one of our most favourite comedians Brent Morin has joined the cast together with Bridget Mendler. They've already played a couple in one of the best sitcoms ever Undateable, and now he will play her boyfriend, a struggling musician from LA who will have his hands full as he meets his girlfriend’s imposing father and close knit family over a stressful and emotional Christmas break. Ashley Tisdale, Adam Rose and Hayes MacArthur will also star, Tisdale as the other daughter, Rose as her husband and Hayes as the only son in the family.

DAVID WALTON TO LEAD THE US PROJECT AT CBS
CBS has found leads for their new hybrid sitcom THE US PROJECT in which Elizabeth Alderfer and David Walton will star opposite Parker Young, Vanessa and Laura Marano! It will be a comedy told through

Definitely one of the most exciting news of the season is that Fran Drescher is returning to the small screens in NBC's UNINSURED sitcom which revolves around young parents Dave (Adam Pally) and Rebecca (Abby Elliott), who end up having to take care of Dave’s parents, Elliot and Linda (Drescher) who have mishandled their finances and need help to pay down a sizable debt. Now they've cast Steven Weber as Dave's father Elliot! Weber will still play in three other series in which he has regular roles!
