I told you that CBS has ordered a pilot for an unusual period set costume multicamera sitcom REGENCY and now they have revealed that Rhys Darby will take the lead in the comedy series that will be set in early 19th century and follow the upper middle class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal in 19th century England. Darby will lead the series as Arthur Tillbrook, head of the family home, Hartford Park. Arthur is heir to a vast cheese empire but prefers to think of himself as a “guy’s guy.” He will go to great lengths to prove his masculinity, though his privileged upbringing reveals itself every time. This new costume multicamera sitcom is being prepared for the 2026/2027 new television season, which means we will know its destiny this summer - whether it will air in Autumn or Mid Season or not air at all.
