Here's a new update for all the fans of "The Hobbit". Head of "Weta Digital" Richard Taylor gave an interview to MTV, revealing some new details about the upcoming Guillermo del Toro fantasy adventure "The Hobbit", a prequel to "Lord of the Rings". According to him dwarves will be in the center of the story:
The lovely thing about "The Hobbit" is that the race of the dwarves comes to the forefront in the story, and we'll depict the uniqueness of the collection of the dwarves. Gimli had an incredible presence, of course. But he was only one character. And it's fantastic to think that we're going to be able to develop the dwarves to such a higher degree. The richness of their culture. The fact that through so many different dwarfs, you'll get to appreciate their cultural differences, where they come from, them as a people. We haven't actually started fully on preproduction yet, we're still in the design phase, but it's a wonderful opportunity to work with a unique director in Guillermo and continue to work with Peter Jackson as the producer, who is so heavily involved.
Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be any time soon, Alex, though...
ReplyDeleteI of course loved the LOTR trilogy (who didn't?). I have started to read 'The Hobbit' twice but got very bored and put it aside both times. I am hoping the movie is more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI share your fears, Alan. I found Hobbits and Dwarves the most boring members of the fellowship :(
ReplyDeleteOddly, The Hobbit nor Lord of the Rings has never interested me even though it sounds like my kind of thing. But I still wish the production the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteThe most memorable member of LOTR and of course which I want to see it again in Hobbit is Gollum/Smeagol.
ReplyDeleteAvalon, I'm not sure about THE HOBBIT, but I'm 100% convinced that you would enjoy LOTR extremely. Especially the elven part of the story (which is my favourite as well).
ReplyDelete@Jaccsy
yep, he was precious :)) My favourite characters were Galadriel (and all the elven people from Lotlorien) and Eomer of Rohan.
