More than a year ago I told you that Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer will star in a new movie take on famous Sherwood legend THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD from director Michael Sarnoski and earlier in December I showed you the first photos from it but now we also have the first trailer which you can watch below. The film will see the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of  mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation. Also starring Bill Skargard as Little John, the film will arrive sometime this year.

As Deadline reports, the film will see the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation. The shooting will start in February 2025.

In a role that critics says is the best she has given so far in her career, Jodie Comer leads new post apocalyptic British drama movie THE END WE START FROM which is ready to flood the cinemas December 8th also starring Joel Fry and Gina McKee and also Mark Strong. As London is submerged below floodwaters due to environmental crisis caused by climate changes, a woman (played by Jodie Comer) gives birth to her first child. Days later, her small family is torn apart and she and her baby are forced to leave their home in search of safety. They head north through a newly dangerous country seeking refuge from place to place.

A new star has joined the latest movie adaptation of Agatha Christie's DEATH ON THE NILE! Director and actor Kenneth Branagh has revealed that White Princess star Jodie Comer will form the film's leading trio with Armie Hammer and Gal Gadot! In the film scheduled for December 2019 Branagh will again play famous detective Hercule Poirot beside directing the movie. 

The film will see him investigating a murder during a luxurious cruise on the Nile River that he just happens to be on. But just as he identifies a motley collection of would-be killers, several of the suspects also meet their demise, which only deepens the mystery. His new adventure was teased in the end of his previous adaptation Murder on the Orient Express which featured a massively stellar cast but lacked in quality and atmosphere.

Israeli-British chef and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi is providing the cakes and pastries that will be used in the film.

which follows a young woman who enlists the help of her mother’s best friend and her eccentric estranged grandmother to fulfil her late mother’s dream of opening a bakery in Notting Hill. The shooting is under way in London.

QUEEN ELIZABETH OF YORK
Is played by Jodie Comer. Daughter of the late King Edward IV and The White Queen herself, gets her life transformed when she gets married to Henry VII the new king thanks to the plots of her mother.She is kind, warm and publicly loyal to her husband but privately she hates him and plots against him. Their hatred could not only destroy them but England as well.

HENRY VII KING OF ENGLAND

Is played by Jacob Collins Levy. After living in exile for most of his youth in France, he returned to England to regain the crown from the Yorkists. He is mistrustful of women, has a strict and obsessive mother and a new wife he does not love. He finds himself torn between the two women who use him as their battleground. They both want to win his favour.

LADY MARGARET BEAUFORT
The queen mother is played by Michelle Fairley. She has sacrificed her whole life to get her son to the throne but now he is sitting on it she realizes she barely knows him. Desperate to get closer to him she puts herself in the role of his advisor.

DOWAGER QUEEN ELIZABETH

The new queen's mother is played by Essie Davis. She will do whatever it takes to ensure her children survive the war between the Yorks and Lancasters. It was through her betrayal of her late husband's brother, King Richard III, that the Lancaster family retook control over the English crown — with the condition that her daughter Elizabeth be made Queen consort.

JASPER TUDOR
The King's uncle is played by Vincent Regan. He is his right hand, his general and brilliant battle commander, utterly loyal to his nephew. He has always been secretly in love with his mother Lady Margaret.

MARGARET PLANTAGENET

Is the queen's cousin played by Rebecca Benson. She is shy and wants to be invisible, but her brother is a York heir and they are both in danger in this Tudor world. She is the queen's close friend as well.

PRINCE RICHARD OF YORK
Played by Patrick Gibson is 'a boy' who appears at court claiming he is Queen Elizabeth's long lost brother Prince Richard of York. He has a very strong claim to the throne and a support among the Yorkists.

PRINCESS CECILY OF YOURK

Elizabeth's younger sister is played by Suki Waterhouse. She always feels she is in a shadow and wants to marry the king herself. Battling for survival and better position she may become a turncoat!

THE DUCHESS OF BURGUNDY
Is played by Joanne Whalley! Aunt to the queen, sister of her dead father and uncle, whom she lost in the War together with her father and husband. She wants peace but the Tudors have taken all she's ever got. She rules her own very fashionable and light court.

Starz has revealed today the first official poster and trailer for their THE WHITE PRINCESS series scheduled for April 16th! The historical drama is told from the perspective of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne: Lizzie (Jodie Comer), Lady Margaret Beaufort (Michelle Fairley) and Dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville (Essie Davis).

The story begins as one of England’s most politically turbulent times, The War of the Roses, is coming to an end. An uneasy peace is achieved when former King Richard III is defeated at the Battle of Bosworth, and the victor, Henry Tudor, future King Henry VII (Jacob Collins Levy), is married to Lizzie, a princess from a rival house and Richard III’s former lover.

Another costume delight for you today is exquisitely atmospheric first trailer and photos from Sofia Coppola's new period set drama THE BEGUILED,  an unusual 19th century set thriller with the ensemble cast lead by Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell. To arrive into cinemas at the end of June, the movie is the big screen adaptation of Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name which already had its adaptations.

THE STORY OF THE BEGUILED
is set at a Virginia girls’ school in 1864 during the Civil War, The Miss Martha (Nicole Kidman) Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies, which has been sheltered from the outside world... that is until the day they discover a wounded Union soldier (Colin Farrell) and take it upon themselves to show him some real southern hospitality!  While imprisoned in the Confederate girls' boarding school, the injured Union soldier cons his way into each of the lonely women's hearts, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually, on him.

Tons of costume drama delight today, my spylings, as we have first photos and teasers for upcoming new period set TV shows! A few weeks ago I showed you the first teaser for THE WHITE PRINCESS series, a sequel to The White Queen but this time produced only by Starz without a help from BBC, and today you can feast your eyes on the lavish new cast photo shoot photos from the eight episode saga which will start its rule this April! As the photos show it will obviously have much better costumes than the first season which was largely criticised for historical inaccuracies and lack of any splendour.

YORKS VS TUDORS  
The story begins in the aftermath of the 1485 battle of Bosworth, the final conflict in England's War of the Roses, where Henry Tudor (Jacob Collins Levy) unexpectedly defeated King Richard III to become King Henry VII. Amy Manson is going to portray Lady Catherine Gordon, cousin to King James IV of Scotland and the love interest of “The Boy” who claims to be Prince Richard of York, rightful heir to the throne and Elizabeth’s long lost brother played by Patrick Gibson! Andrew Whipp will play Richard Pole, supporter and former soldier of Henry VII, whose marriage to Elizabeth’s cousin Margaret Plantagenet (Rebecca Benson) reinforces the alliance between the Houses of York and Lancaster under Tudor rule. Kenneth Cranham is Bishop Morton and Vincent Regan is Jasper Tudor.

After a rather long wait Starz has released the first teaser for their THE WHITE PRINCESS epic series, a sequel to The White Queen that they did with BBC a few years ago. It doesn't reveal much, but it gives you a look on Jodie Comer in the lead role in the adaptation of Philippa Gregory's novel.

To air sometime this year, the eight episodes will be set in the 15th century England ostensibly united by the marriage of Elizabeth of York and King Henry VII (Jacob Collins Levy), but their personal and political rift runs deep and the war that rages between them threatens to tear the kingdom apart once again. Now here's something very new that starts as soon as next week, primetime Tuesday, November 29th over at British National Broadcaster BBC One: Tense and impactful three part thriller series RILLINGTON PLACE, based on the tragic and disturbing real life events, which explores the crimes of serial killer John Christie and the subsequent tragic miscarriage of justice in 1940s and 50s London. The cast is lead by almost unrecognisable Tim Roth, alongside always brilliant Samantha Morton as his wife and one of our most beloved among the young Brits, deeply charismatic and magically convincing Nico Mirallegro!

Presenting each episode from the separate viewpoints of his wife Ethel,  their neighbour Timothy and finally Christie, RILLINGTON PLACE retraces the steps that led an innocent man Timothy Evans to be accused of murder and hanged for a crime he did not commit,  whilst Christie went unchallenged until his arrest in 1953. Reconciled after living apart for nine years, John Reginald Christie (Tim Roth) and his wife, Ethel (Samantha Morton), move into the ground floor flat of 10 RILLINGTON PLACE, West London. The adjustment to a new life, in a small, rundown property, is particularly felt by Ethel but she strives to please her husband. Ten years on, Timothy Evans (Nico Mirallegro) and his wife Beryl (Jodie Comer) move into a flat upstairs and fall prey to Christie’s influence and tales. When Beryl becomes pregnant with a second child, already struggling to make ends meet following the birth of baby Geraldine, the Evans allow Christie to help them with deadly consequences for the young newlyweds. The series told in three episodes is based on a true story which later on contributed towards the abolition of capital punishment in Britain.
