son of married couple Grace (Annette Bening) and Edward (Bill Nighy). When Jamie comes to visit for the weekend at their seaside home, Edward
informs him that he plans to leave Grace after three decades of marriage. HOPE GAPS tracks the unravelling of three lives, through stages of shock, disbelief, anger and resolution.

"Hope Gap" has a good story coupled with a strong leading cast of three stars.
ReplyDeleteThere's pain in it (especially for the wife and son), but as the title implies, there's also some hope.
A bittersweet family drama worth seeing, methinks.
Why do you think there isn't as much pain for the husband? :)
DeleteI don't know the details, but it would seem so. After all, he's the one leaving a marriage of thirty years.
Deletebut maybe she's the bad one, we don't know :)
Delete"Hope Gap" sounds intriguing and has a cast of good actors!
ReplyDeletewe do love movies with raw emotions.
DeleteGwen sounds interesting and a little creepy :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen a very monotonous clip from it for TIFF, hope the rest of the film is more dynamic
DeleteBreakups always affect more than the two people involved in the relationship. I'm still pissed over losing Shaggy :(
ReplyDeletepoor Shaggy! Maybe they will date again after college.
DeleteProbably not, but that's okay. I do love the new one. I just miss the old one too :(
DeleteMaybe you could babysit Shaggy's kids one day.
DeleteNo thanks. I don't even want to babysit my own kids. I am counting down 4 more years until it's just me and Jason. Love my girls, but I am so ready to be kid free.
Deleteunderstood! :)
