FREEDOM HAS A STORY
You've heard about this one from me before, but it will premiere September 7th at Venice Film Festival and we have a new English language trailer and
gorgeous new poster too coming from our beloved Studiocanal!
The movie airs September 7th at Venice |
ONE NATION, ONE KING (Un peuple et son roi) arrives into French
cinemas as well this September! With the cast lead by Gaspard Ulliel,
Niels Schneider, Olivier Gourmet and Louis Garrel, the
movie follows the 1789 French Revolution told through the eyes of those
who rose up to start it, and made history, in an inspirational and epic
drama featuring some of the finest French actors of their generation and
complimented by the visually stunning filmmaking of Pierre Schoeller.
'PETERLOO' ARRIVES
TO VENICE FILM FESTIVAL!
Also premiering in Venice, tomorrow to be precise, is Mike Leigh's historical drama PETERLOO starring Maxine Peake, our dearest Nico
Mirallegro and Rory Kinnear!
An epic portrayal of the events surrounding the infamous 1819 Peterloo Massacre, where a peaceful pro democracy rally at St Peter's Field in Manchester turned into one of the bloodiest and most notorious episodes in British history. The massacre saw British government forces charge into a crowd of over 60,000 that had gathered to demand political reform and protest against rising levels of poverty. Many protesters were killed and hundreds more injured, sparking a nationwide outcry but also further government suppression. The Peterloo Massacre was a defining moment in British democracy which also played a significant role in the founding of The Guardian newspaper.
Peterloo arrives tomorrow in Venice |
The trailer of this movie which deals with the fate of a king and the birth of the french revolution, makes me ask myself this:
ReplyDeleteWhat has become so far of the 3-targets of this bloody revolution: liberte', egalite', fraternite'? Not much, I dare say.
I like the women in the trailer, and their head covering.
yes, we haven't moved ahead much, have we?
DeleteVenice, promising Venice...👍
ReplyDeleteMuch better than London or Teluride, even than Toronto, usually than Cannes as well :P
DeleteAh, I remember One Nation, One King. I forgot about that one, but now remember it's one I wanted to see.
ReplyDeleteIt just got sold to Studiocanal so we've got the English trailer finally.
DeleteI would go see "One Nation, One King" if it ever gets released in Canada.
