'THE LAST AIRBENDER'
LIVE ACTION SERIES AT NETFLIX?
I know that some of you nasty haters :) did not like it, but I for one thought it was a rather nice movie and it is getting a TV series version! Netflix is
, apparently, planning to turn AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER into a TV show. Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko who were the creators of the animated series will now also produce the live action version. The Last Airbender is set in an Asiatic world in which some people can manipulate the classical elements (air, water, fire, earth) with psychokinetic variants of the Chinese martial arts known as "bending". This epic adventure followed the protagonist, twelve year old Aang and his friends, who must bring peace and unity to the world by ending the Fire Lord's war with three nations. Speaking of Netflix, they've bought BBC's this season's most intriguing drama Bodyguard and will air it around the world from October 24th!

'THE LAST KINGDOM' SEASON 3
NEW ALEXANDER DREYMON PIC
Meanwhile, a new photo has been released from the set of the third season of our beloved mediaeval action adventure series THE LAST KINGDOM which is currently in production after a very long wait. It shows Alexander
Dreymon as brave Uhtred of Bebamburgh! The
series set in the 9th century when separate kingdoms were fighting
against invading Danes will also see David Dawson return as King Alfred. Netflix will air the season probably sometime next year based on Bernard Cornwell's novels.
The third season will see Uhtred still fighting for his own piece of land |
I never did see the Airbender shower, but that's not really my cuppa tea so I'll be passing on the live series.
ReplyDeleteHurray for a new season of The Last Kingdom, though I need to finish season 2. Sounds like I have plenty of time to catch up though.

DeleteI haven't seen the show but I loved the movie, it was really lovely and gorgeous.
DeleteSeason 2 was soooo short, eight episodes finish before they start.
I've always meant to read some of Bernard Cornwell's novels. Maybe I'll get around to it some day, now that I'm retired.
ReplyDeleteI've heard they're mostly dreary as he repeats the same things within the plot, which is visible in the series as well, but there's more dynamics on the small screens so it is not such a big problem.
DeleteThe Last Kingdom is on the 3rd session already...I've been enjoying it with my hubby, but have to wait till the kids sleep first :)
ReplyDeletebut every season is so short, just eight episodes :(
