 follows the journey of Rosie, a young and exuberant flamingo, as she navigates personal loss and seeks to rediscover the joy of dance. The action is set against the backdrop of the beautiful Fuente de Piedra lagoon in Andalucía, Spain. The family-friendly entertainment feature promises an enchanting and passionate blend of adventure, comedy and heartwarming moments with the story of this delightful new animated movie emphasizing the importance of perseverance, self-discovery and the power of determination.

Disney Plus has released a trailer and announced March 29th as the start date for their new period set adventure series RENEGADE NELL which follows Nell Jackson, a quick-witted and courageous young woman, who finds herself framed for murder and unexpectedly becomes the most notorious outlaw in 18th-century England! But when a magical spirit called Billy Blind appears, Nell realises her destiny is bigger than she ever imagined. Sometime in 2022 your trusted spy has informed you that Scandinavian streamer Viaplay is preparing historical movie STOCKHOLM BLOODBATH and now we have the first trailer since the Mikael Hafstrom directed epic movie has been available for streaming over at the streamer since January 18th. It is Viaplay's second English language film after Lasse Hallstrom's Hilma which is also available on the streamer. Last summer Viaplay had to lay of a quarter of its workforce. Due to their financial trouble they sold about 12% of their shares to French Canal Plus. Prime Video Nordics has recently bought a dozen of their shows scraped for the lack of money. After opting out of shooting expensive high end originals, because of the downfall of their business model, they have also pulled out of UK and USA.

 

  SET IN 1520 THE FILM

explores a dark chapter in Sweden’s history, which saw the infamous massacre of nearly 100 nobles and civilians in the Swedish capital. The film follows Anne (Sophie Cookson) and her foster sister Freja (Alba August) as they seek revenge on the men who murdered their family at Anne’s wedding. Their quest leads them to Stockholm, where they are drawn into a ruthless political struggle between Sweden and Denmark when a group of Swedish aristocrats conspire to overthrow the Danish king Christian II, known by the Swedes as Christian the Tyrant. When the Danish king learns of the nobles' plans, he heads to Stockholm to put an end to the rebellion of the Swedish rebels, under the leadership of the regent Sten Sture. The stuggle culminates in a mass execution of almost 100 Swedes, presided over by King Christian II of Denmark (Claes Bang), known as the Stockholm Bloodbath.

The biggest hit among the new Super Bowl trailers this year was definitely the first long trailer for KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES a new sequel in the massive franchise which will storm into cinemas May 10th opening the summer season this year. It is directed by Wes Ball and set many years after the reign of Caesar, when a young ape goes on a journey that will lead him to question everything he's been taught about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. The new Apes movie is set many years after the conclusion of 2017's War for the Planet of the Apes. Many apes societies have grown from when the Moses-like Caesar brought his people to an oasis, while humans have been reduced to a feral-like existence. Some ape groups have never heard of Caesar, while others have contorted his teaching to build burgeoning empires. In this setting, one ape leader begins to enslave other groups to find human technology, while another ape, who watched his clan be taken, embarks on a journey to find freedom. A young human woman (played by Witcher's Freya Allan) becomes key to the latter's quest, although she has plans of her own.

Other than Wish of the Fairy Fish and The Bremen Town Musicians, there are some other fairy tale movies brewing currently in the movie making cauldron of sweet Mother Russia, and among them, probably the most anticipated one is FINIST: THE FIRST WARRIOR (Финист. Первый богатырь) in which our favourite of all mighty Russian hunksters, the blond grand prince himself Kirill Zaytsev is to return to the role of legendary Russian hero Sokol Finist! This epic movie adventure which is set to arrive in Russian cinemas January 2025 also starring Yulia Peresild, the first actress ever to shoot a film up in space, is basically a spin off or continuation of Russia's most popular epic saga The First Warrior, which had four ultra successful sequels previous years and will now focus on the first one among them all, Sokol Finist, from whom all legends and fairy tales begin and start.   FINIST YASNIY SOKOL

 is the most famous hero of Belogorye, the strongest, most dexterous and most deserving. Well, and the most beautiful, of course. All other heroes look up to him, children want to be like him, and girls can't stop looking at him. And who could blame them? Finist is a real superstar. And he carefully protects and maintains this status. He needs more and more feats, he is simply obsessed with them. But there is a nuance. The practical benefit of the feat for Finist is no longer of decisive importance. Let's say, freeing a village from a herd of wild boars that tramples down crops is boring, uninteresting, futile: they won't spread tales about it, they won't admire it. But going to the end of the world, where Beauty is imprisoned in a tower, guarded by an unimaginable Beast, now that is a challenge.

 A GORGEOUS BABA YAGA

Beside our boo Kirill the Breathtaking, the cast also includes Russia's most beautiful female star Yulia Peresild who plays probably the most gorgeous Baba Yaga we have ever seen, with Fedor Dobronravov also in the ensemble alongside always funny Sergei Lavigin as Finist's assistant and right hand, albeit a very clumsy one, Meleha, and wildly handsome Fedor Gamaleya as some kind of Arabian or Persian prince or knight at least judging by the photos of him under a turban. Before this one arrives to the cinemas, TV Russia will also air, sometime later this winter, an eight part television series THE LAST WARRIOR: LEGACY which is also set in the same world with Finist also taking part in the story.

First new series coming up from Channel 5 this year is four part thriller TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE which arrives February 14th! Kara Tointon plays young, single mother Rachel who is on the poverty line with young son Liam, but she works all hours of the day as a cleaner to give him the best life she can. One day, her boss at the cleaning firm is approached by a businesswoman who says she’s acting for an extremely wealthy client called Elliot (Allen Leech). Her client has observed Rachel working at a hotel where he’s a regular guest and she asks if Rachel can clean for him exclusively. Better pay, less hours – it sounds too good to be true. Gradually Elliot’s behaviour towards Rachel and Liam becomes increasingly controlling. When suspicions are raised, Rachel starts to dig into his past, uncovering a dark and disturbing story from his childhood that explains his obsession with them. What ensues is a nail-biting thriller that asks the question: how far would you go to repair your past?

A co production comes from Poland, Croatia and Finland in the form of historical movie COPERNICUS SECRETS about famous 15th century scientist Nicola Copernicus who was an intellectual giant, whose vision had a tremendous effect on modern science. Copernicus, born in 1473, was a Polish astronomer who proposed that the Earth and other planets revolve around the Sun. But the film, written by Teodor Kosch, won’t be a typical biographical film as it will also show the divisions between the Eastern and Western world, revealing old feuds, provoked by different interests of empires whose traditions are now being continued. In outlining these mechanisms, the film won’t shy away from showing the process of falsification of history.
