New Les Miserables arrive this October

 uprisings in France, it follows the character of Jean Valjean, a peasant sentenced to five years’ hard labour for stealing a loaf of bread whose story spans several years as he is released from prison and reintegrated into society, yet pursued by a police inspector on his trail. Vincent Lindon plays Jean Valjean, with Tahar Rahim as his nemesis Inspector Javert. Benjamin Lavernhe and Camille Cottin are evil innkeepers Thénardier and Madame Thénardier. Noemie Merlant plays the tragic figure of Fantine, whose daughter, Cosette, Valjean takes in as his own. It will arrive October 14th 2026.

TAHAR RAHIM, LAURIE DAVIDSON IN PRISONER

Sky has announced Tahar Rahim and Izuka Hoyle as leads in their new thriller TV series PRISONER which will also star our dearest Laurie Davidson, Eddie Marsan, Catherine McCormack, Finn Bennett, in a story that will  follow a principled young prison officer escorting a dangerous, high-value prisoner to court to testify against his elite crime syndicate. Throughout the journey, their relationship twists and turns, with the stakes escalating as the crime syndicate stops at nothing to track them down. Otto Bathurst is directing. 

THE BURBS SERIES AT PEACOCK

Meanwhile, Peacock has unveiled full cast for their dark comedy series THE BURBS which, set in present-day suburbia,  follows a young couple (Keke Palmer, Jack Whitehall) who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood. Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch and our sweet Kapil Talwalkar will also star.

First up, we have A TOWN CALLED MALICE which should hit Sky channels around Europe from March 16th! Pitched as a blend of Dallas and Pulp Fiction to the sounds of Duran Duran, this neon-soaked, 80s-set cocktail of crime thriller stars Martha Plimpton as Mint Ma and Jason Flemyng as Albert Lord, our dear boy Lex Shrapnel as Leonard Lord with Eliza Butterworth as Carly Lord and Jack Rowan as Gene Lord alongside Tahirah Sharif in the role of Cindy Carter! Daniel Sharman and Dougray Scott are also in the cast.

A TOWN CALLED MALICE

 set amongst the beach clubs and palm trees of the Costa del Sol in the early 80s,  follows the Lords, a crime family of petty thieves from South London, as they decamp from London to Spain to profit from an unexpected windfall – and to escape the attention of the police in a high-profile murder enquiry. But while they hope to recapture their former glory, they spend as much time battling each other as they do their opponents.

Bella Dayne will be the Viking Captain

The latest one to join Netflix ten episode epic TV series based on Arthurian legends CURSED is Bella Dayne whom you remember as Helen in BBC's scandalously atrocious Troy: Fall of a City series. She joins Katherine Langford, Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgard, Peter Mullan and Matt Stokoe in the series that sees Langford playing Nimue, Lady of the Lake, who after her mother’s death, finds an unexpected partner in Arthur (Devon Terrell), a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin (Gustav Skarsgard) and deliver an ancient sword!

Bella Dayne will play Red Spear, a regal and ruthless Viking captain, with an eye for treasure. Loyal to no one, the Red Spear and her crew raid villages along the coast of Britain until a Fey stowaway boards her ship and entangles their fates. I've recently shown you first photos from the series which will hit the small screens next year.
