REJOICE! JULIA CHILD IS VISITING FRANCE IN FIRST IMAGES FROM HBO'S JULIA TV SERIES SEASON 2 WHICH RETURNS THIS AUTUMN!

ARRIVES THIS AUTUMN

Two of our favourite HBO shows are finally coming back and beside Gilded Age which returns October 29th, JULIA is also coming back with season two but November 16th when it will premiere with three new episodes and other five will air weekly till late December. Sarah Lancashire is back as the acclaimed chef Julia Child and David Hyde Pierce as her husband, Paul. 

 

IN THE SECOND SEASON

first three episodes will be set in Paris and the French Riviera while Julia grapples with her rising fame and celebrity with her show up and running on the air, and with a weekly cooking program virtually unheard of at the time. After spending some much needed time in France while preparing for her second season of her cooking show The French Chef, Julia visits a wide variety of renowned restaurants and chefs across both the South of France and the U.S in Washington D.C. and of course, Boston. Social issues prevalent in today’s social landscape are mirrored in Julia’s journey as she and her team spearhead female-driven public television.

 WHO IS IN THE CAST?

Also back in the cast are Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, Fiona Glascott and Robert Joy while Rachel Bloom will join the series in the recurring role of Elaine Levitch, a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on The French Chef. Stockard Channing, Craig Bierko, Judith Light, Isabella Rossellini, Tosin Morohunfola and Christian Clemenson all have guest roles in the new season. It has been a year and a half since the first season aired in spring 2022. They have used a real 1,000 years old market in France to shoot the scenes where Julia is shopping for groceries while on the trip there. Hope we get a trailer soon!

TO LEAD NEW ABC SITCOM!

This season really did not bring us many multi camera sitcoms, but networks are slowly picking up orders for possible new pilots and one of them, an untitled one, will have a legendary comedian returning to the small screens! As 'Deadline' reports Carol Burnett will star in ABC's pilot for a new sitcom, produced by Amy Poehler, about a family who gets a chance to buy the house of their dreams, a house they’d never be able to afford under normal circumstances, but is able to under extremely abnormal circumstances. They must live with the current owner, an older actress (Burnett) — until she dies.

STOCKARD CHANNING, CANDICE BERGEN, KATHY BATES' SITCOMS

She is not the only legendary female comedian to return to TV soon, NBC is developing a Stockard Channing sitcom pilot ME & MEAN MARGARET (about a fearsome faded film and Broadway legend and the unwitting boy lawyer who has to babysit her), Candice Bergen is to topline sitcom PEARL (as a larger than life family matriarch who finds out she has cancer, and becomes intent on controlling and orchestrating every aspect of her family's life before she dies), while Kathy Bates will lead sitcom DISJOINTED for Netflix as a mom who runs her own marijuana dispensary with the help of her three sons!

'THE GREAT INDOORS'

But a multi camera sitcom to arrive to us as early as next Thursday is CBS comedy THE GREAT INDOORS which is set to premiere in primetime on October 27th with Joel McHale portraying Jack who has made a name for himself as an adventure reporter for the magazine Outdoor Limits. His days of exploring the world end when the magazine's founder, Roland, announces its move to web-only publishing and assigns Jack to supervise the Millennials who make up its online team.

Stephen Fry will appear as Roland: an outdoorsman in his own right and founder of the magazine! Christopher Mintz Plasse as Clark: a tech nerd who knows everything about surviving on Mars and a zombie apocalypse yet has not been out of the city! Christine Ko as Emma: the social media expert who views Jack as the human version of dial-up! Shaun Brown as Mason: a hipster who has not spent any actual time outside. Susannah Fielding as Brooke: Roland's daughter and Jack's ex-girlfriend and current boss. Chris Williams as Eddie: Jack's best friend, who runs the local bar and helps him understand his co-workers!

Here's an upcoming new television series rounding up a rather impressive and charismatic cast with a unique twist in the plot! Just hunking up the already gorgeous and beautiful ensemble of actors in ZOOBI- QUITY series lead by stunning Kim Raver and seductive Peter Facinelli, is dashing Ben Rappaport! 

CROSS SPECIES MEDICINE  
Fox's light medical series, coming from BONES producers, based on the best selling book by Dr. Barbara Natterson Horowitz and Kathryn Bowers, will follow the unlikely pairing of Dr. Kara Martins (Marsha Thomason), a successful, driven cardiologist as she risks career suicide by teaming with Dr. Lucas Cort (Peter Facinelli), a brilliant, socially challenged veterinarian who relates better to animals than people. They try to put aside their competitive natures to cure the incurable using a unique blend of cross species medicine that’s never been tried before.

Kim Raver will play Dr. Julia Fowler, the chief of medicine at Chicago Hospital, the part originally male in the book. Ben Rappaport will play Dr. Henry Lowe, a cardiology resident. Ambitious and always concerned with doing the right thing for his career, he surprisingly bends hospital rules. 

DISNEY TO ADAPT

'CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN' 
In the news coming from Disney, beside the info that the work on the FROZEN 2 script is well under way, 'Variety' reports that they have acquired movie rights on CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN fantasy novels from Lloyd Alexander which, two decades ago, were the basis of their BLACK CAULDRON animated movie. The saga follows young Taran from youth to maturity, an assistant pig keeper who dreams of being a grand hero. Set in the magical land of Prydain, which resembles ancient Wales the story sees him engaged in a series of battles with Annuvin, the Land of Death. Other key characters are the young princess Eilonwy, the bard Fflewddur Fflam and a wild creature named Gurgi.

'ME & MEAN MARGARET'

GAVIN STENHOUSE TO LEAD STOCKARD CHANNING SITCOM

In other television news, NBC has finally found a young man who will star opposite legendary Stockard Channing in the pilot for their new multi camera sitcom ME AND MEAN MARGARET! Handsome ALLEGIANCE star Gavin Stenhouse will lead  an unlikely buddy comedy that follows Margaret (Channing), a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress, and Ben (Stenhouse), the ambitious 27 year-old lawyer forced to babysit her. Naturally conciliatory but not a doormat (entirely), Ben is a nice, responsible lawyer who accepts his latest assignment as the legal conservator/ babysitter for the notoriously mean and mischievous former actress Margaret Manley (Channing), but quickly realizes it’s more than he bargained for. He’s forced to go way outside his comfort zone and think on his feet — and in the process, learns a thing or two from her about standing up for himself.

'VAN HELSING' SF SERIES

 KELLY OVERTON LEADS THE CAST

TV news for you this Sunday, starting with the cast round up for SyFy's new epic series VAN HELSING! Kelly Overton will lead the 13 episode drama which follows Vanessa Helsing, a descendent of the Van Helsing lineage of warriors who now must lead mankind against a world controlled by vampires in the post-Rising landscape.

Jonathan Scarfe will play Axel, a career Marine with unwavering devotion and loyalty to both duty and his wards, despite years of isolation and endless vampire attacks. Christopher Heyerdahl will play Sam, a survivor of the vampire Rising, who relies on his strength and observational skills to stay alive. David Cubitt is John, another survivor of the vampire Rising, whose actions are fuelled by anger, prejudice, suspicion and fear. Paul Johansson is Dimitri, a vampire turned before the Rising, he is now the patient and calculating leader of the vampires. Tim Guinee will play Ted, a vampire foot soldier who does battle with Vanessa and conceals a tragic past. Production starts tomorrow for Fall airing.

Meanwhile, when it comes to multi camera sitcoms, always delightful Stockard Channing is to lead NBC's new sitcom pilot ME AND MEAN MARGARET which will follow a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress, and the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her.

'MARLON' FINDS HIS LADIES

NBC is also rounding up the cast for their sitcom MARLON! Loosely inspired by Marlon Wayan’s life, it centres on an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife. TRUTH BE TOLD's Bresha Webb will play his biggest enemy, his ex wife's best friend. Essence Atkins will play the ex wife, a type-A interior designer by trade and something of a control freak who did one reckless and spontaneous thing in her life: fell in love with Marlon.
