After a very long period of not really giving anything new of importance to their viewers, Netflix is ready to launch a couple of new and old epic shows
Cowboy Bebop starts November 19th
in the last two months of the year and among them is their new science fiction series COWBOY BEBOP for which they have just released a series of brand new character posters and a long official trailer after the confusing and cheap looking teasers released earlier this month. The ten episode series will star streaming November 19th based on the popular 90s anime show with John Cho playing the lead character Spike Spiegel. Mustafa Shakir is Jet Black and Daniella Pineda is Faye Valentine and there is also the space crew's little Corgi, Ein. The director of the original series is now serving as a consultant with the original composer scoring the live action adaptation as well. Two new movies arriving to Netflix next month! First up, something festive, launching the holiday season at the streamer on October 28th is HOLIDATE with Luke Bracey and Emma Roberts. (who seems like the worse casting choice ever in the trailer, thanks to her wooden acting and idiotic facial expressions) In the romantic comedy that also stars our dear Manish Dayal and Frances Fisher,Kristin Chenoweth, the two of them play
Sloane and Jackson who hate being single on holidays where they face constant judgement from their meddling families. So, when these two strangers meet, they pledge to be each other's "holidate" for every festive occasion in the year ahead.

COWBOY BEBOP which already has John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda and Alex Hassel announced in the cast, but now they are joined by Elena Satine who will obviously have a role similar to Morena Baccarin's in Firefly.

While we're anxiously waiting to see what will the new STAR TREK TV series, starting in January at CBS, be about and who will stand at the helm of Enterprise (Nathan Fillion being fans' favourite rumoured name), we shall first watch the third movie in the rebooted saga (or the thirteenth at all) STAR TREK BEYOND which will boldly sail into the cinemas around the world from July 22nd this summer! CHRIS PINE AND KARL URBAN LEADING THE CAST AGAIN
With FAST AND FURIOUS franchise director Justin Lin behind the helm of STAR TREK BEYOND instead of J.J. Abrams who had to work on STAR WARS saga, the cast is again lead by the ensemble that has built up an amazing chemistry among themselves in the first two movies of the rebooted series. Chris Pine returns again as the young Captain Kirk fresh from the Star Fleet Academy and now given the command of Enterprise which he is taking into the legendary exploring mission with most famous Vulcan in the universe Spock, played by ZacharyQuinto, as his trusted commander. It is interesting that while both Pine and Quinto have contracts signed for the fourth movie as well, the rest of the crew did not have presigned contracts even for this one, which Karl Urban, who is again playing everybody's beloved grumpy Doctor Bones or Lieutenant Commander McCoy, has recently confirmed by saying he did not even know he is returning for the third part, which is shocking given that his character is fans' favourite. Zoe Saldana is gain Lieutenant Uhura, John Cho portrays Lieutenant Sulu and Anton Yelchin is Lieutenant Chekov! Idris Elba is the main villain in the movie called Krall, while Sofia Boutella is Jaylah, the alien warrior you see in the trailer with the white skin. Oscar winner Shohreh Aghdashloo was cast as the High Command of the Federation for reshoots on the film.
Well, this is shaping up to be the best superhero movie cast ever, seriously: it has been revealed that Cate Blanchett will officially join Chris Hemsworth's THOR: RAGNAROK as the powerful nemesis Hella, Asgardian goddess of death, while our beloved Karl Urban will be Skurge (Thor's Asgardian enemy wielding a double bladed axe, one of the Masters of Evil)! Jeff Goldblum will be the eccentric Grandmaster (a master of all games of skill and chance, a member of the Elders of the Universe), Tessa Thompson will play mighty warrior Valkyrie, while Mark Ruffalo will again be the Hulk! Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role of Loki, IdrisElba of Asgardian sentry Heimdall, while Anthony Hopkins is again the ruler of Asgard, Odin! Only this weekend I informed you that Amin Maalouf's LEO THE AFRICAN will be turned into a movie, and now yet another of his beloved novels is getting the adaptation and already has the cast! PORTS OF CALL will star Golshifteh Farahani (EXODUS GODS AND KINGS), Louis Garrel and Pierre Niney in, as 'Deadline' reports, the story about two ill-starred lovers who meet in Paris during World War II: Ossyane, the principal narrator and Muslim Ottoman prince, and Clara, a Jewish freedom fighter from Vienna. PORTS OF CALL is a fable of madness and family ties, of love and despair, of mixed and uncertain identities set against the backdrop of the French Resistance as well as the breakdown of order in Beirut. Atiq Rahimi is directing!
