THE FINAL THIRD SEASON AIRS THIS WEEKEND WORLDWIDE

Are you ready my DaVincians? The third and sadly the final season of everybody's favourite epic TV show DA VINCI'S DEMONS starts tonight in USA at Starz and tomorrow around the world at Fox Internat- ional Channels! The final chapter will bring the end to the adventures of the medieval mastermind and his gang which brought the cast back for reshoots earlier this year when it was suddenly decided that due to show creator David S. Goyer's busy movie schedule the series won't go on. However, he did say that there could be a fourth season in the form of a mini series in a few years time which would be set 15 years after the end of the third season. Tonight's opening episode brings us back to the 1480 Ottoman siege of Otranto which Leo will try to fight off in next ten episodes faced with the theft of his own inventions. It is also interesting that all episodes will immediately be available for viewing for the subscribers of Starz' Play and On Demand platforms.

LEONARDO DA VINCI
Leonardo Da Vinci is played by Tom Riley. To fight those who seek to destroy everything he loves, Leo must align with old foes, repair broken friendships, discover hidden secrets, and resume a dangerous quest, knowing all the while that he is his own worst enemy.

LUCREZIA DONATI

Lucrezia Donati is played by Laura Haddock!  After playing her part in the Ottoman invasion, she spirals into dark and reckless behaviour that could threaten to destroy her from the inside out. She must put the needs of her friends before her own if she is to ever absolve herself of past sins, with the hopes of aiding Leo in his quest to save Italy.

COUNT GIROLAMO RIARIO  
Count Girolamo Riario is played by Blake Ritson. His trip to the New World inspired an unlikely friendship with Leonardo, but upon his return to Italy, he failed to receive forgiveness from those whose approval he seeks. At his most vulnerable, he was kidnapped by the mysterious Labyrinth, and their plans for him threaten to propel him down a dangerous path.

COUNT LORENZO DE MEDICI

Lorenzo De Medici is played by Elliot Cowan.  The head of the Medici Bank, one of the most influential institutions in Europe, Lorenzo de’ Medici is the de facto ruler of Florence. When Lorenzo finds himself at the mercy of his enemy, he is forced to reexamine his priorities, putting the lives of those he loves, and the citizens of Florence, at risk.

ZOROASTER
Zoroaster is played by Gregg Chillin. Having been loyal to Leo for countless years, Zoroaster ultimately learns that blind faith in his friend is not in anyone’s best interest, and begins to push Leo to examine the consequences of his actions.

VANESSA OF FLORENCE

Vanessa is played by Hera Hilmar. She is now the newly-anointed regent of Florence in Lorenzo's absence, since giving birth to his nephew. For the future of her son as well as her city, Vanessa must form unlikely alliances ... and ultimately make a decision that will affect both her life and the lives of her friends.

KING OF NAPLES
Duke Alfonso and the new king of Naples is played by Kieran Bew. A fierce military leader and passionate patriot, Alfonso will stop at nothing to protect his republic when the port city of Otranto is invaded by the Ottoman Empire, even aligning with an old enemy.

The most heartbreaking of news, my Davincians! Starz has decided that the third season of the world wide popular historical series DA VINCI'S DEMONS will be the final one rounding up Leonardo's (Tom Riley) adventure this October when the concluding season will sail onto the small screens together with the Ottoman fleet which Leo has to fight off from the Italian coast. You can check out the stunning trailer for the final chapter as well as the brand new poster. This isn't a big surprise, since the show was delayed from airing at its usual April slot, the show runner was changed and Starz also finished other mega popular epic series SPARTACUS in the third season too. Or maybe, with OUTLANDER, and BLACK SAILS Starz can't keep up with another expensive epic series, even though its, by far, the best one among the three?

AGAINST THE OTTOMANS  
The final season will have the Renaissance genius facing his biggest challenge yet when the city of Otranto is torn apart by Ottoman invaders, who use da Vinci’s own inventions during the battle against him. To fight those who seek to destroy everything he loves, Leo must align with old foes, repair broken friendships, discover hidden secrets, and resume a dangerous quest, all while knowing that he is his own worst enemy. Blake Ritson returns as Count Riario, Elliot Cowan as Lorenzo Medici, Laura Haddock as Lucretia and Kieran Bew as the prince of Otranto.

 JAMEL DEBBOUZE TO LEAD

AMIN MAALOUF'S 'LEO THE AFRICAN' EPIC ADAPTATION

Speaking of Ottomans, they will be mentioned in the adaptation of historical novel LEO THE AFRICAN from Amin Maalouf, one of my personal favourite writers, I must admit. 'Deadline' reports that French star Jamel Debbouze will play the title role of Hasan Al Wazzan the 16th century traveller and writer. Based on a true story, the book follows Hassan’s childhood in Fez, Morocco, having fled the Spanish Inquisition, through his many journeys as a merchant. Along the way, he encounters, pirates, slave girls and princesses, witnessing a world in flux. In the book, Hasan undergoes his own multi-faith journey, performing his hajj to Mecca, then converting to Christianity, only to return to the Muslim faith in later life. The epic story journeys through the fall of Granada, the Ottoman conquest of Egypt and Renaissance Rome under the Medicis.

TEASER & PICS - DESTRUCTION WAS NOT HIS DESIGN

Starz has released first teaser trailer and some new photos for the third season of the planetary popular epic show DA VINCI'S DEMONS which is broadcast in almost 200 countries around the world! The third season should probably start airing at the end of March or beginning of April, and as you can see in the teaser Leonardo (Tom Riley) will be faced with himself as an enemy - or to be more precise with his weapons and genius. Photos also show Elliot Cowan as Lorenzo Medici and Blake Ritson as Count Riario. Laura Haddock and Lara Pulver also star in the series about the life of the famous painter, focusing on his early years in Renaissance Florence. Third season will pick up directly after the events of the second season finale, and will see Da Vinci in turmoil as the city of Otranto is torn apart by an Ottoman invasion. As I reported earlier, David S. Goyer has left the helm to work on other projects and the new showrunner is John Shiban (X FILES). Disney has released a new trailer for next March's fairy tale movie CINDERELLA offering new shots that weren't seen in the previous clip. The starstudded cast includes Cate Blanchett as the stepmother, Richard Madden as the prince, Helena Bonham Carter as Fairy  Godmother, Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera as the stepsisters, Hayley Atwell, Stellan Skarsgård and Derek Jacobi, and Lily James as CINDERELLA!

FIRST THIRD SEASON PHOTOS

Two epic treats for you today, people, starting with the brand new, actually the first, photos from the third season of one of world's most beloved historical TV series DA VINCI'S DEMONS which should arrive to the small screens probably next April at Starz and in more than 120 countries around the globe! As you probably remember the second season finale left us with Italy facing invasion from the massive  Ottoman fleet and with Leonardo's long lost mother appearing unexpectedly at the imperial ship of the Turkish sultan! Leo was left setting up a special weapon which could defend them from the enemy  galleys! According to the series creator David S. Goyer (who is giving up the show runner seat to John Shiban), the third run of the Emmy nominated series will see Leo facing the fact that his inventions might be used by the forces of evil too. Tom Riley will return in the role of Leo, Laura Haddock as his lover Lucretia Donati, Elliot Cowan as Lorenzo de Medici, Blake Ritson as count Riario and James Faulkner as the evil Pope Sixtus.

  'THE GREAT FIRE' EPIC SERIES

Another historical drama to look forward to is coming to the small screens October 16th - it's British ITV's THE GREAT FIRE with the story set in 1666 and with events unfolding over four consecutive days, when the infamous Great Fire indiscriminately engulfed the city of London, as no matter what your path in life or status all human life is vulnerable. From the humble baker, Thomas Farriner (Andrew Buchan) and his family to the ambitious Samuel Pepys (Daniel Mays) and King Charles II (Jack Huston), the characters’ stories will interweave as the city, and their lives, are changed beyond imagining during one of British nation’s greatest historical disasters. The fire consumes homes and lives as loyalties and friendships are tested and passions come to the fore. As the greatest city of the 17th century is destroyed, the fire is a catalyst to acts of forbidden love, deceit and despair. GAME OF THRONES' Rose Leslie is Farriner's wife, Oliver Jackson Cohen is portraying king's brother, James Duke of York, while Charles Dance will be Lord Denton - an emissary of the King's! Directed by Jon Jones (MR. SELFRIDGES) the series uses real pyrotechnics and special effects.
