AIR DATE AND TEASER FOR SEASON 4

HBO has revealed an air date and a teaser for the fourth season of their popular costume drama GILDED AGE which will return Sunday November 1st following again the rich people of the late 19th century New York and their servants. Carrie Coon leads the cast as Bertha Russell who has changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences. Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) sees an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forges a new path for herself, and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to be accepted by her future in-laws. Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Dennis Haysbert, Maggie Kuntz, Neal Huff, Bonnie Milligan, Jim Gaffigan, Dallas Roberts, Andrew Burnap, Elizabeth Marvel and Adrienne Warren are the new additions to the cast which will also see the return of Cynthia Nixon, Blake Ritson, Harry Richardson and others.

The Russells invite him to dine at their home in the hopes of charming him into a business deal. SAM CLAFLIN'S HISTORICAL EPIC TV SERIES

The series is hitting small screens this month

As of last week, December 11th to be more precise, over at Italian broadcaster RAI and French national broadcaster France TV,   Mediawan's English language historical series THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO with Sam Claflin and Jeremy Irons has officially started airing and will also hit Swiss national broadcaster RTS1 tonight, and in Sweden it will air on STI Play from December 18th. It will also air on TV3 in Russia and on BBC sometime next year directed by Palme d'Or and Oscar winner Bille August who shot it in France, Italy and Malta where they actually used the very same castle that was mentioned in Alexandre Dumas' book on which the series is based. Our dearest Sam Claflin has recently signed with a new agency in Hollywood, so let us hope it means more of him on our screens, but next year we will also watch him in Harlan Coben's series Lazarus at Prime Video and possibly also in Barbaric epic TV series over at Netflix if it gets finished.

THIS EIGHT PART EPIC SERIES

 sees Sam Claflin playing Edmond Dantes, whose future looks bright: he has just become a ship captain and is preparing to marry the love of his life, the beautiful Mercedes. However, he does not even suspect that he has enemies who, out of envy, are going to plot against him. Edmond is unfairly accused of Bonapartism and sent to the Chateau d'If prison without trial. After ten years in prison, Edmond loses all hope of salvation, but suddenly meets another prisoner - Abbe Faria, who had been digging an escape tunnel for many years, but mistakenly ended up in Dantes' cell. The new comrade tells Edmond about the treasures that are located outside the castle, but soon dies, and Dantes escapes alone. Now he is the mysterious Count of Monte Cristo, who intends to take revenge on those who destroyed his life.

Jeremy Irons plays Abbé Faria who has a decisive role in carrying out Cristo's revenge. Gilded Age returns October 29th

Well, it has been an extremely long wait, but HBO is finally bringing us the second season of Julian Fellowes' wonderful and highly entertaining costume drama GILDED AGE which will land October 29th with eight new episodes set again during the Gilded Age in America, a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems and of fortunes made and lost. Over in the United Kingdom, the new season will start a day later, October 30th on Sky Atlantic! Today you can check out the insanely gorgeous and super glitzy costumes in the brand new trailer that has been released today filled with lavish gowns and even more lavish sets, it is splendour all around:

 

THE SECOND SEASON
 begins on Easter morning 1883, with the news that Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Throughout the season, Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell (Morgan Spector) takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls’ school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada (Cynthia Nixon) begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes (Christine Baranski) approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy (Denée Benton) taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe.
