WIN OR DIE MOVIE TRAILER
STARRING HUGO BECKER
The film is out in France January 25th |
follows
the adventures of Charette (played here by French star Hugo Becker),
naval officer, winner of the American War of Indepen- dence, who sees his
life changed in 1793 when he engages in a final fight for freedom.
François Athanase de Charette de la Contrie (2 May 1763 – 29 March 1796) was a Breton Royalist soldier and politician. He served in the French
Royal Navy during the American Revolutionary War and was one of the
leaders of the Revolt in the Vendée against the revolutionary regime
during which the peasant fighters asked Charette to be their leader.
During the very brutal war in which republicans massacred many people,
he won numerous battles but was captured and executed when he was just
32.
Very strange hairdo and costumes...
ReplyDeleteTwas the fugly Napoleonic time in history.
DeleteLove Hugo Becker and love the story of the Chouans, but why tun it into a movie when the material could fit better in series?
ReplyDeleteTis probably cheaper to shoot a movie than a multiple episode series, Gattofila. At least in Europe.
DeleteI know. It is why they keep making dull police stories . They reuse the same cars, te same guns, the same hand outs they call wardrobe.
DeleteIt is interesting that they do that with our period set shows too, there are a few big companies in Europe that own furniture, costumes, weapons and other objects for historical films and shows, so they use the same ones often in dozens of different films and shows.
DeleteI'd say it was they ugly lady wearing the ugly bonnet that did the murder. She looks like a mean hag in the trailer.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling they will blame it on a man, not woman.
DeleteIt was I, LeClerck.
ReplyDeleteMethinks Madame Fannie is waiting for you upstairs.
DeleteYikes! I thought Yvette would be.
DeletePunching much?
