THE THREE MUSKETEERS
FIRST TRAILER IS HERE!
While we are waiting for the next spring to bring us the first part of the planned duology THE THREE MUSKETEERS: D'ARTAGNAN and then THE
THREE MUSKE- TEERS: MILADY in December next year, Pathe has released the magnificent first trailer to wet our appetites! Beside that, together with Disney Plus they are also making two spin off TV series MILADY: ORIGINS which will follow the beginnings of the elegant vilainess and BLACK MUSKETEER which I announced a
few years ago. To be shot in French, the series will build on the experience
gathered making the $80 million worth historical adventure movie saga
based on Alexandre Dumas' work. First film is, meanwhile, out April 5th, the second December 13th!
The first part is out next April in cinemas |
3 MUSKETEERS: D'ARTAGNAN
will follow D'Artagnan (Francois Civil), a spirited young Gascon, who is left for dead after trying to save a young woman from being kidnapped. When he arrives in Paris, he tries by all means to find his attackers. He is unaware that
his quest will lead him to the heart of a
real war where the future of France is at stake. Allied with Athos
(Vincent Cassel), Porthos (Pio Marmai), and Aramis (Romain Duris), three
musketeers of the King (Louis Garrel) with a dangerous temerity,
D'Artagnan faces the dark machinations of the Cardinal of Richelieu
(Eric Ruf). But it is when he falls madly in love with Constance
Bonacieux (Lyna Khoudri), the Queen's (Vicky Krieps) confidante, that
d'Artagnan truly puts himself in danger. For it is this passion that
leads him into the wake of the one who becomes his mortal enemy: Milady
de Winter (Eva Green).

I wonder how many Three Musketeers movies there have been in total.
ReplyDeleteProbably less than we think.
DeleteI know you aren't an Eva fan, but I don't think this looks half bad. I may give it a try.
ReplyDeleteWe will next year!
DeleteThis story continues to continue. How come we haven't appeared in one yet, Dezzzmeister?
ReplyDeleteBecause Eva Green has beaten you to the role of Milady da Winter LOL
DeleteMusketeers! Always fun.
ReplyDeleteHope there will be nekkid bums.
DeleteI made a comment under a copy of the trailer recently and an Eva Green fan said I sounded miserable (paraphrasing). Someone had mentioned that in his/her opinion EG was perfectly cast as Milady. I mentioned that Milady in the books was supposed to be blonde but if the film is in French folk won't have to listen to EG's dodgy "English" accent. EG is blonde in real life but has her hair dyed. Still, dying one's hair isn't a capital offence. I don't hate EG - I'm more tepid. Nice-looking lady but not the greatest French actress since Sarah Bernhardt (IMHO).
ReplyDeleteShe is godawful in this and in any other role, her idea of acting is speaking in whispers with semishaded eyes. Milady needs to be elegant, posh and seductive like Faye Dunaway was.
