Gracing the small screens in three consecutive Sundays ahead of Easter, starting from March 22nd is Fox Biblical TV movie series THE FAITHFUL and we have the first teaser. The series will focus on The Bible’s most legendary women: Sarah, the wife of Abraham; Hagar, Sarah’s servant and the mother of Ishmael; Rebekah, Sarah’s great-niece and the wife of Isaac; Leah, Jacob’s wife and the mother of six of the twelve tribes of Israel; and Rachel, Jacob’s favored wife. James Purefoy, Alexa Davalos, Millie Brady, Tom Mison, Tom Payne, Jeffrey Donovan are just some of the names that will lead these three two hour holiday films.

Or actually two movies, as Antonin Baudry's sweeping epic on the French leader has been split into two parts premiering both next summer DE GAULLE: TILTING IRON out June 10th and “De Gaulle: The Sovereign Edge” out July 3rd. The two films follow Charles De Gaulle's life and political

The first film is out in cinemas next June

 commitment between 1940 and 1945, and trace his development towards a political career. Simon Abkarian takes the lead role with Simon Russell Beale as Winston Churchill. The two part historical thriller saga is charting the French Resistance during WWII through the eyes of General Charles de Gaulle. Benoît Magimel stars as Pierre Koenig, Mathieu Kassovitz as Francois Darlan, Niels Schneider as General Leclerc, and Campbell Scott as Franklin D. Roosevelt.  Set to air as a two hour TV film on Fox and Hulu on Easter Sunday April 5th the third installment of Fox' Biblical three part series THE FAITHFUL  told through five of The Old Testament’s most legendary women will center on Leah and Rachel, nieces of Rebekah who will, played by Alexa Davalos, be the focus of the second part a week before Easter.  the eldest daughter of Laban. Blu Hunt is Rachel, the free-spirited and fiercely ambitious younger daughter of Laban and sister of Leah. James Purefoy is Laban,the patriarch of a complicated household and the older brother of Rebekah. Will Stevens portrays temperamental Birham, who, much like his father Laban, prefers fun over tending the flock. Tom Payne returns as Jacob, the son of Rebekah and Isaac (Tom Mison) and now betrothed to Rachel.

This will be the second film in the three part series

tested in every imaginable way after a conversation with God sets her on an irreversible path. Isaac is burdened by an inheritance he didn’t ask for and haunted by a faith he both fears and yearns to understand. The son of Abraham and Sarah, he’s a man deeply shaped by his near sacrifice from his father’s hand at God’s instruction. Jacob is a survivor and a strategist who, mired by his position as the second-born son, learns to rely on cunning and determination for the blessing he seeks. In Jacob, we see not perfection, but transformation. Not divine purity, but divine persistence. Esau is a hunter and a warrior who carries the weight of expectation placed on the firstborn son. He is loved deeply by his family, but becomes a pawn in a larger game that plays out between him and his brother. Fox will also air a film on Sarah on March 22nd and on Leah and  Rachel on Easter Sunday April 5th.

Based on a Sarah Perry's book, Apple TV's six part mini series ESSEX SERPENT will arrive May 13th. The story will see Claire Danes playing London widow Cora Seaborne as she moves to Essex to investigate reports of a  mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the hot village vicar Will Ransome (Tom Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature!
