Or actually two movies, as Antonin Baudry's sweeping epic on the French leader has been split into two parts premiering both next summer DE GAULLE: TILTING IRON out June 10th and “De Gaulle: The Sovereign Edge” out July 3rd. The two films follow Charles De Gaulle's life and political

The first film is out in cinemas next June

 commitment between 1940 and 1945, and trace his development towards a political career. Simon Abkarian takes the lead role with Simon Russell Beale as Winston Churchill. The two part historical thriller saga is charting the French Resistance during WWII through the eyes of General Charles de Gaulle. Benoît Magimel stars as Pierre Koenig, Mathieu Kassovitz as Francois Darlan, Niels Schneider as General Leclerc, and Campbell Scott as Franklin D. Roosevelt. Sony has released first trailer for their new period set movie THE CHORAL from director Nicholas Hytner who had Ralph Fiennes, Mark Addy 

The Choral is out November 7th in UK

and Simon Russell Beale in the cast of the film set in Ramsden, Yorkshire in 1916 and out November 7th! 

 THE STORY FOLLOWS 

 the chorus master and most of the men of the ambitious local Choral Society, who have volunteered for the front. Under the direction of the demanding, driven Dr. Guthrie (Fiennes), the Choral recruits a crop of teenage boys and girls. Together they discover the joys of singing and the urgency of desire as the new boys come to terms with their imminent conscription into the army. The pic explores the humor and humanity at the heart of a community facing an uncertain future.

ITVX has released first trailer from their surprising comedy series DOUGLAS IS CANCELLED which focuses on the cancel culture. Hugh Bonneville plays a middle aged and widely-respected news anchor called Douglas Bellowes while Karen Gillan stars as his canny sidekick Madeline. Ben Miles, Alex Kingston and Simon Russell Beale also star. The four part series will hit ITV and ITVX later this month.

He enjoys his privileged status as national treasure and host of current affairs show “Live at Six” while off-air he shares a harmonious home with wife Sheila, a newspaper editor. Well, this one is finally coming to the cinemas June 14th so we have received the first trailer for FIREBRAND historical movie drama with Jude Law as King Henry VIII and Alicia Vikander as his last wife Katherine Parr. The film that also stars Amr Waked, Eddie Marsan, Simon Russell Beale, Sam Riley and Patsy Ferran, did not receive well criticism after it's festival run, but we will judge for ourselves. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think, is it lacking in fire and spark like the critics say? The film did have a rather long way to theatres from changing the lead actress to changing the title.

 

IN BLOOD SOAKED TUDOR ENGLAND
twice married, accomplished, and educated Katherine Parr (Vikander), reluctantly agrees to become the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII (Law). Her consent to marry him carries great personal risk, given that her predecessors are either vanquished, beheaded, or dead. When Henry appoints her as Regent, the nation’s ruler during his absence when he departs to fight overseas, he lays a dangerous path for her. Henry’s courtiers, suspecting she’s sympathetic to radical Protestant beliefs that have taken root in the kingdom and are a threat to their power, scheme against her and cast doubts upon her fidelity to the increasingly ailing and paranoid King. Once Henry returns to England, his courtiers convince him to turn his fury on the nation’s radicals, including Katherine’s childhood friend Anne Askew, who becomes one of the scores of people convicted of treason and burned at the stake. Horrified and privately grieving, Katherine finds herself under ever-increasing scrutiny and suspicion. Knowing that even a whisper of scandal might lead to her downfall, Katherine must unleash her own scheme to fight for survival.

As Deadline reports, Henry VIII historical movie drama FIREBRAND in which Jude Law will play the king and Alicia Vikander the protagonist, his last wife Katherine Parr, has finalised the court entourage: Sam Riley and Eddie Marsan will portray noble brothers Thomas and Edward Seymour

who loathed each other. Their sister Jane Seymour was Henry VIII’s third wife. Thomas Seymour and Katherine Parr were sweethearts before Parr caught Henry’s eye. After the monarch’s death, Thomas and Katherine were reunited. Film follows the marriage of Katherine to Henry, his sixth and final wife, and how she fell foul of her husband’s courtiers — namely his key adviser

Sam Riley and Simon Russell Beale take the supporting roles

Stephen Gardiner, the Bishop of Winchester, played by Simon Russell Beale. Hunting for high profile heretics, he sent Protestant martyr Anne Askew (Erin Doherty) to the Tower of London, hoping she would betray the queen.
