DISNEY'S 'SWORD IN THE STONE' LIVE ACTION REMAKE FINDS ITS DIRECTOR! PAUL BETTANY TO PLAY PRINCE PHILIP IN 'CROWN'? 'SIREN' MERMAID TV SERIES CAST PHOTO AND TEASER SWEPT ASHORE!

  'SWORD IN THE STONE'
DISNEY'S MOVIE FINDS DIRECTOR
It is based on T.H.White's book
As you already know Disney is doing a lot of live action remakes of their famous animated classics and one of them is also SWORD IN THE STONE which has just found its director in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later)! The 1963 animated hit was, as 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes, the final movie released by the studio before Walt Disney’s death!
The movie takes a light hearted view of the famous mediaeval legend of King Arthur, focusing on the young Arthur being mentored by the magician Merlin. This is not to be confused with another Disney's project on the same topic The Merlin Saga which might be helmed by Ridley Scott. That one follows young Merlin. Is generally grim and dark Fresnadillo the right director for this job?

NEW 'THE BEGUILED' PERIOD SET THRILLER TRAILER WITH NICOLE KIDMAN, COLIN FARRELL! 'SIREN' MERMAID TV SERIES AND 'LEGEND OF THE MONKEY' FANTASY SERIES

'SIREN' TRAILER
FOR NEW FREEFORM TV SERIES
Two trashy looking series for you today :) FreeForm has released first trailer for their 2018 series SIREN set in a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. Alex Roe leads the cast.

 'LEGEND OF THE MONKEY'
NEW FANTASY TV SERIES
This also looks trashy and horribly cast :) Netflix has teamed up with ABC Australia on new fantasy series LEGEND OF THE MONKEY! Inspired by famous Chinese fable Journey to the West it will have ten episodes about a teenage girl and a trio of fallen gods on a perilous journey as they attempt to bring an end to a demonic reign of chaos and restore balance to their world. The 100's Chai Hansen leads the funny cast.

NEW 'THE BEGUILED' TRAILER
 NICOLE KIDMAN & COLIN FARRELL
There is also a new trailer released for period set thriller drama THE BEGUILED which competes this year at Cannes Film Festival directed by Sofia Coppola. Starring Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning, it is set during the Civil War at a Southern girls’ boarding school. After an injured Union soldier (Colin Farrell) is taken in by the sheltered women, they tend to his wounds. While he is conning his way into each of the lonely women’s hearts, the house is taken over with sexual tension and dangerous rivalries, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually on him. Check out the extremely spooky new trailer for it below before it opens up in cinemas around the world at the end of June this summer.
