We're all into Super Bowl movie trailers today in case you didn't see them this weekend! Starting with the mega massive one for GODS OF EGYPT which lasted more than a minute (when a minute of commercials during the event costs up to $10 million)! The first mega blockbuster of the year will open later this month starting Gerard Butler as Ancient Egyptian God Set, Geoffrey Rush as Raa and Nikolaj Coster Waldau as Horus! The trailer shows a movie of mind blowing opulence!

We also got to see the first look of Liam Hemsworth in the short trailer for Roland Emmerich's INDEPENDENCE DAY 2: RESURGENCE which shows the population of Earth anxiously awaiting an alien reprisal! After their first visit, the humans have used their technology to enhance our defence, but will it be enough? June 24th is the date of resurgence!

'THE JUNGLE BOOK'

A much longer one came for Disney's new movie mix of live action and CGI in the adventure remake of THE JUNGLE BOOK out in cinemas  this April!  Mowgli (Neel Sethi) has been raised by wolves and knows little of the civilized world – making him a target for the territorial tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba). As Mowgli sets off through jungle he crosses paths with a scheming python named Kaa (Scarlett Johansson), the loyal and honourable panther Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) and big friendly bear Baloo (Bill Murray).

Meanwhile, the Super Bowl short trailer for Bryan Singer's superhero movie X MEN: APOCALYPSE was absolutely ruled by Olivia Munn's character Psylocke and her sabre. TO TURN 'A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC' INTO MINI SERIES

It's kinda of a Gerard Butler day today here at HOLLYWOOD SPY, not that you will mind, right? His production house has just acquired rights on V. E. Schwab's fantasy novel A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC which they are looking to develop into mini TV series. As 'Deadline' writes, The book is set in four parallel worlds, with four parallel Londons ruled by different magical powers and monarchies. Grey London, where the people have been told that magic is a myth; Red London, where magic is embraced and thrives; White London, where magic is used by the rulers against it’s people; and Black London, where magic has overpowered the people and corrupted the world beyond repair.

And a much anticipated first trailer for this year sweetest romantic movie ME BEFORE YOU is also out today! Out this June, the adaptation of Jojo Mojes best selling book will see Emilia Clarke playing Louisa Clark, a British small town working class girl who loses her café job. She's compelled to take the first available employment, despite being woefully unqualified — caretaking for a quadriplegic. Her charge turns out to be the upper-class William Traynor (Sam Claflin), injured after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the street. Things start off rocky because of Traynor's anger and despondence, but Louisa's effervescence eventually breaks through and romance blossoms.

The latest star to join NBC's new epic fantasy series to be directed by incredible visual genius Tarsem Singh EMERALD CITY is Joely Richardson in the role of Glinda! 

Vincent D’Onofrio is set to play the mighty Wizard, while newcomer Adria Ajorna is Dorothy Gale, the 20-year-old who is swept up by a tornado and transported to the mythical Oz. Her K9 police dog find themselves in another world, one far removed from our own — a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a battle for supremacy. Oliver Jackson Cohen will play the lead male role, Ana Ularu is the Wicked Witch, alongside Jordan Loughran, Gerran Howell and Mido Hamada.

It is only natural for the avalanche of new trailers this week to continue with some real snow which can be seen in the first trailer for Hugh Jackman's EDDIE THE EAGLE which will jump into cinemas this April! Taron Egerton plays hapless British ski jumper EDDIE THE EAGLE who became a media sensation when he entered the 1988 Winter Olympics as the first representative from Great Britain in the Olympic category and came in last in both ski jump events. Hugh Jackman plays a ski expert who helped him train for the Olympics!

After an extremely long wait the first glitzy, sparkly and delicious poster have been released for next February's Ancient Egyptian epic adventure GODS OF EGYPT and they let you see Scottish Hunk Gerard Butler in a skirt! It is strange they haven't yet released any trailer, only four months before the premiere, but I have a feeling we shall see the first one next week when Lionsgate's HUNGER GAMES hits the theatres in its final instalment. We're having a movie set photos day today, people,  beginning with some new pictures and a poster for next year's biggest epic adventure GODS OF EGYPT. I've already shown you first photos of Gerard Butler in the costume of Set, Egypt's naughty God of Darkness and Storms, and of Elodie Yung as Godess of Love Hathor, and now you can also check out the first set photo of GAME OF THRONE star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Horus, a god of the sky and son of Osiris, who must defend himself from the wrath of his brother Set! Young actor Brenton Thwaites will appear in the historical spectacle as Bek, a human thief, Courtney Eaton as Zaya, a slave girl cursed by Set, legendary Geoffrey Rush plays Ra, a god of the sun and father of Set and Osiris, and Chadwick Boseman will portray Thoth, the god of wisdom! Rufus Sewell is also in the cast. The $150 million spectacle is currently being directed by Alex Proyas with the movie scheduled to open the blockbuster season in April 2016!

 Then there are also the first pictures from the sets of the new big screen adaptation of famous BEN HUR scheduled for March next year under the helm of Timur Bekmambetov and based on the novel by Lew Wallace which follows a falsely accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him. Jack Huston (BOARDWALK EMPIRE, GREAT FIRE) plays Judah Ben Hur, HOMELAND's Nazanin Boniadi is the female lead as Esther, Rodrigo Santoro has the honour of playing Jesus himself, with Morgan Freeman also in  the cast, while Toby Kebbell plays the main villain Messalla.

And there are also the wedding photos from the set of Netflix's lavish historical series THE CROWN in which Claire Foy will be Queen Elizabeth II, John Lithgow is Churchill, while Matt Smith will play Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh! Stephen Daldry is directing the inside story of two of the most famous addresses in the world – Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street – and the intrigues, love lives and machinations behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th century. The $100 million expensive series will chronicle the Queen's reign from her ascent to the throne at the age of 26, right through to the present day!
