The year behind us was really good for some of the multicamera sitcoms (Neighbourhood at CBS ruled Monday nights and Big Bang Theory Thursdays, Last Man Standing dominated Friday nights for Fox with its glorious, record breaking return together with his sister sitcom Cool Kids) and really bad for some others (the audience does not appreciate backstabbing and thus Conners at ABC did not manage to reach the heights of legendary Roseanne, while Happy Together did not impress at CBS). The biggest and the most embarrassing flop was definitely the return of Murphy Brown after almost thirty years, but the audience did not like its hateful and critical tone, so it is getting replaced on Thursday nights at CBS by warm new family sitcom FAM from January 10th! It can be expected that Murphy Brown and Happy Together won't be getting second seasons.

They've ordered FAM multicam sitcom into series with Nina Dobrev as a young woman whose dreams of an upstanding life with her new fiancé are dashed when her younger train wreck half-sister comes to live with her to escape their train wreck of a father. Tone Bell, Odessa Adlon, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Sheryl Lee Ralph also star. It will air in midseason!

Good and bad news from the TV comedy world. Sad news is that Freeform
is ending its sitcom Young and Hungry with the remaining ten episodes
of the fifth season which will air from June 20th. The good news is that
its star Emily Osment has booked a lead role in new CBS multicam sitcom
pilot 25 which follows twenty something Kyle (Matt Shively), who comes
to Austin to finally convince his old best friend from camp, Kate
(Osment), that they are perfect for each other. Unfortunately, she just
got engaged. A lot of guys would give up; Kyle is not one of those guys.
But to Kyle’s surprise, even though he came to town looking for “the
one,” he might end up with much more than that.
