Still reeling from her fall from grace, Jane went on to meet charismatic businessman Thomas Cressman and fell deeply in love. Soon cracks began to develop in theromance Jane had pinned all her hopes on, with disastrous consequences.Mia McKenna-Bruce will play the former royal aide and dresser who was convicted of murder, with Natalie Dormer as Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York although, admittedly, she looks nothing like the real Sarah. Ed Speleers is Thomas Cressman, Andrews’ former partner who she was convicted of murdering in 2001. We've started our festive end of December yesterday with INDIAN SUMMERS and all till the end of the month I will be reminding you or presenting you with all the new historical and epic shows that are launching around the New Years! Today you can check out our final premium spotlight on ITV's new fantasy series BEOWULF: RETURN TO THE SHIELDLANDS which will bring mythical family adventure to the small screens from Sunday, January 3rd, and later on January ... ... 23rd at Esquire Network in USA as well! Filled with our most beloved hunks Kieran Bew and Elliot Cowan from DA VINCI'S DEMONS, Ed Speleers from ERAGON and DOWNTON ABBEY and Joe Sims from BROADCHURCH, the 13 part drama will follow the adventures of the famous mythical hero BEOWULF.

BRITAIN'S DARK AGES  
The series is set in the mythical Shieldlands, a place of spectacle and danger populated by both humans and fantastical creatures. Essentially, a western set in the Dark Ages of Britain’s mythic past, in which BEOWULF who, after spending many years wandering as a mercenary warrior, returns to Herot to pay his respects to the recently deceased Thane, Hrothgar - the man who raised him. But when Herot is attacked by the terrifying monster Grendl, Beowulf has no choice but to hunt it down, winning favour with Herot’s new female Thane, and the wider community, in the process. And so begins a personal journey that sees this mighty and capable man slowly reconnect with the notion of family and home.

THE STARSTUDDED CAST

Kieran Bew plays the lead role of Beowulf, William Hurt will play Hrothgar, Joanne Whalley takes on the role of Rheda. David Harewood will play Scorann, a born warrior, fearsome fighter and man of great honour, Ed Speleers has been cast in the role of Slean, David Ajala will play Rate and the cast will also see warriors or villains played by our favourite Bristol hunk Joe Sims, Elliot Cowan, Lee Boardman, David Bradley and Emmet J Scanlan.

KIERAN BEW IS BEOWULF

Beowulf is an exceptional and intelligent warrior with a reputation as a fearless ‘hero’ that he struggles to live up to and accept. What BEOWULF realises upon arriving to Herot is that what it needs to survive isn’t a Reeve who will ‘go by the book’ but one who’ll do what it takes to ensure its survival. He knows he has to step up for this community to stand a fighting chance.

JOANNE WHALLEY IS REDA

Capable, intelligent, tough when she needs to be and Herot’s Thane, Rheda proves herself as a leader and at times dangerous politician.

ED SPELEERS IS SLEAN

Rheda’s son. Ambitious, intelligent and greedy but never the fighter his father was. Brave and with a burning desire to be a great warrior but lacking the natural talent that BEOWULF is blessed with, his feelings of inadequacy and insecurity have left their mark. He believes the rule of law is vital in Herot’s progression but that doesn’t mean he necessarily follows it himself.

 WILLIAM HURT IS HROTHGAR

The Thane of Herot who adopted Beowulf and aimed to mold the then boy into a leader - a boy who, in Hrothgar’s eyes, was inherently more capable than his own son.

EVA LONGORIA SELLS SITCOM TO ABC

Over at ABC Eva Longoria has sold yet another new sitcom from her production company. The untitled interracial family comedy will centre on an ambitious and meticulous Latino chef who runs a cafe with his unpredictable white father in law. She already sold BONITA AND MECHELLE sitcom to NBC where she will also star in HOT AND BOTHERED sitcom of her own.

SEAN BEAN'S 'FRANKENSTEIN CHRONICLES' TO AIR IN USA
A&E has bought ITV's upcoming FRANKENSTEIN CHRONICLES six episode epic TV series starring Sean Bean for USA airing. Bean plays a 19th century detective hunting down a killer who appears to be assembling humans from mutilated body parts in a copycat twist on the Frankenstein story.
'BATHORY' EPIC HORROR SERIES
CBS is also doing an epic horror series BATHORY with Joel Silver! The epic series follows Elisabeth BATHORY, the 16th century Hungarian Blood Countess. Considered the world’s most prolific serial killer, Báthory is believed to have murdered more than 600 girls bathing in their blood to preserve young looks.

'VERSAILLES' GETS 2ND SEASON!

News from Mipcom in Cannes say that Canal + has just ordered the second season of their King Louis XIV epic series VERSAILLES even before airing the first one in November with George Blagden in the lead role! It will cover time four years after the building of his palace in the first season.

The third book adaptation for today is a science fiction one: NCIS's Shane Brennan is to turn Ian McDonald's upcoming sf novel series LUNA: NEW MOON into series at CBS!  It is set in 2110 on the moon, which has been colonized and industrialized. It is controlled by five powerful, highly competitive dynastic corporate families (known as the Five Dragons) who run their various enterprises with an iron fist in a near feudal society. The moon, under the control of the Five Dragons, is a lucrative source of valuable resources such as Helium-3, carbon, water ice and rare metals, which are exported back to Earth for huge profits. It's a Disney day today, people, since the studio has announced a number of great news today, starting with pop star Shakira who will lend her voice to Gazelle and she will also sing the main song TRY EVERYTHING written by Sia in ZOOTOPIA! Gazelle will be the biggest pop star next March in ZOOTOPIA, the modern mammal metropolis in which the main hero an optimistic police bunny  discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy!

'GIGANTIC' JACK & MAGIC BEAN ANIMATED FILM
But probably the biggest is the announcement of GIGANTIC, Jack and the Magic Bean animated Disney movie directed by TANGLED's Nathan Greno with the story  set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, and following adventure seeker Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden within the clouds. He hatches a grand plan with Inma, a 60-foot-tall girl, and agrees to help her stop a group of villains called Storm Giants! The movie is set for 2018 release after MOANA in 2016.The music is being written by FROZEN composers!

 DISNEY'S 'FINDING DORY'

They have also revealed the first image from FINDING DORY sequel arriving next summer to reunite Dory with friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? With voices from Ellen DeGeneres and Diane Keaton, new characters will include a cantankerous octopus, a misguided beluga whale and  a kind hearted whale shark!

Disney has also released first two posters for live action adventure sequel ALICE IN WONDERLAND: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS which arrives into cinemas next May with the return of Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as the title character Alice. Anne Hathaway will also return as White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter as Red Queen and Stephen Fry as Cheshire Cat! Joining Alice in her quest to save Mad Hatter, will be Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp, the Mad Hatter's father and Ed Speleers as James Harcourt.

Disney has also revealed the first cast photo from STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE spin off which includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen,  Donnie Yen and Riz Ahmed. The movie with deal with the stolen plans of Death Star and is directed by Gareth Edwards for December 2016 release.
