ANNE HATHAWAY JOINS HUGH JACKMAN IN "LES MISERABLES"! BRYAN SINGER HELMS "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" FILM! JASON STATHAM TO HEAD "TRANSFORMERS 4"? SHIA LABEOUF IS "GIANT"! CHARLIZE THERON IN "ZWART WATER"

What was rumored earlier this summer is now confirmed: Anne Hathaway has officially joined Hugh Jackman and Russell
Crowe
in LES MISERABLES In the film adaptation of Victor Hugo's famous novel, she will play Fantine, next to Hugh's Jean Valjean, a man released after 19 years in prison, who must carry a yellow passport which indicates he was a prisoner, even after he has served his time. Russell Crowe will play Inspector Valvert, the policeman who keeps pursuing Jean Valjean. The film is helmed by Tom Hooper who amazed us with THE KING'S SPEECH and ELIZABETH I mini series with Helen Mirren.

HOLLYWOOD SPY DAILY HEADLINES
Since his idea of remaking famous EXCALIBUR didn't go through
with the studios, X-MEN and USUAL SUSPECTS director Bryan Singer, who is currently working on JACK THE GIAN KILLER with Nicholas Hoult and Ewan McGregor, is moving ahead with BATTLESTAR GALACTICA movie as his next project. According to "Variety" Shia LaBeouf has a very strange new project: he will star in A GIANT, which centers on a girl, broke and running from a series of bad relationships, who moves back home to reconnect with her brother. Instead she forms a relationship with a 20-foot-tall man-child who lives next door. Shia will be this unusual man child!

Ah, that Charlize Theron keeps getting strange unbecoming roles. As "MovieWeb" reports she will star in ZWART WATER, American remake of a Dutch horror movie which will revolve
around a nine-year-old girl who discovers her new friend is actually her mother's dead twin. Charlize Theron will portray the mother in the remake, who is said to be slightly unhinged. According to latest rumors Hasbro is negotiating with Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay about the production of TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5 which could be shot back to back. Since Shia LaBeouf isn't coming back in the lead role, some stories say that Jason Statham could take over the franchise which is doing rather fine, since the last installment earned more than $1 billion around the world!
 AND DON'T FORGET THAT THIS THURSDAY YOU WILL BE READING AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH
KYLE PRYOR
FROM "SPARTACUS" AND "LEGEND OF THE SEEKER"

  1. Will Shia LaBeouf ever take a break!

    Conversely, I haven't seen much of Theron lately.

  2. Cool stuff. A lot of weird films. However, I was a super fan of Battlestar and so I can't wait until the film.

    it's the opposite with me, I haven't seen Shia in like forever (I don't follow TRANSFORMERS) but I did see Charlize and I didn't like most of her films :(

    @Clarissa
    that film already has a strong fanbase I reckon :)

  4. haha a man giant, truly running out of ideas. Transformers 4 could see coming, they won't let those robots die, as much as one should. Although sure there will be a nice pay check for Statham in it.

  5. not just a man giant, but a manchild giant :) In the shape of Shia ... :)
    Statham will probably bring TRANSFORMERS through the roof when it comes to box office success

  6. Not sure what they could do with a Battlestar Galactica movie. At least they'd have to wrap it up in two hours. The series went on for too long with no forward progress being made.
    And I hope they don't mean they are remaking the really awful 60's film Jack the Giant Killer?

  7. Looking forward to the interview, Dezz. :))

  8. I'm struggling with the idea of Shia LaBeouf as a 20 foot tall man child. lol.

    The interview sounds exciting :)

  9. i hope a giant is intended to be funny. it sounds like it could be funny, and those are the roles labeouf shines in. an action hero he is not.

    i'm looking forward to les mis. i can see hathaway as fantine. but i'm still not convinced jackman or crowe are old enough for their roles. ohwell. hollywood can make-up them older i suppose. :)

  10. Agree with the miss vic: I am also looking forward to les mis, but while I love Hugh Jackman I don't see him as Jean Valjean...but I suppose if they can make adamantium shoot out his knuckles they can give him the right Jean look. :-)

  11. Definitely looking forward to the interview. I love Kyle!He is gorgeous and talented. And you are so right about Charlize's films of late. What happened to our girl?

  12. you were a big proponent of this les miserables adaptation, weren't you? still singing the same tune?

  16. Looking forward to the interview! :)

    Crossing my fingers that Les Miz works out well. LOVE the choice of Hugh. Feeling so-so about Crowe. Keeping an open mind about Hathaway.

  17. I can't stand LaBeouf lately. He has lost all of his charm...is this the fault of Mihael Bay? Probably

  18. Statham will be better in the role by far as I never was a big Shia fan myself.

  19. @L.Diane
    I never understood the appeal of BATTLESTAR either, and I'm a huge fan of sf :) The new series were especially boring to me.
    JACK THE GIANT KILLER will be after the famous fairy tale, not the film

    @Luanne
    I hope you will like it, he is a very charming fella, nice guy and is also deadly handsome (there will be pics) :)

    @Lyndy
    trust me, sister, I'm struggling with it too :))Hope you will like the interview :)

  20. @Vics
    in the end we shall watch LES MISERABLES only to see and hear Hugh Jackman :) Hopefully he will sing in it too, but I don't think it will be a musical :(

    @LC
    everything is possible in Hollywood :)

    @Johnina
    glad to hear that :)

    I think you will like the interview, Kyle is awfully cute :) We might even cast him in one of your movie adaptations :))

    @Edmund
    actually I was always pretty impartial towards LES MISERABLES, it's just not a book I like, a bit boring to me, but I do like Hugh Jackman.

    @Jessie
    I'm not sure I wanna find out :))

  22. @Debra
    glad you approve :)

    @Ella
    thanks, I will post the interview Thursday morning US time :) and early afternoon European time :)

    @DAmon
    glad you liked it :)

    @Adam
    yep, Anne can do it, although I did want someone else in the role, since there is too much of Anne in all recent films

  23. @Sam
    I hope you will enjoy the interview :) HAve you read the one I made with Melissa Bradley, six times published author last week?
    I totally agree with you on LES MIS.

    @Scott
    yep, he's cute, but I've never understood his appeal. He's just nothing special. If they are going for geek I'd always vote for Topher Grace

    @Lurk
    I totally agree with you, Lurk!

  24. SO excited about BG movie. Also, a movie where your best friend is your mother's dead twin? Definitely worth watching.

  25. @Libby
    glad to seee you excited, Libby :0

    On another note, I'm shocked none of my boys noticed those perky devils on Charlize Theron ... and I've put so much effort and love in choosing that pic for them :)))

  26. Too bad Paul didn't get the role. Jackman and Crowe...none of them is my fav :(

    Ah...I still haven't watched Transforners 3

  27. The world will always need more Transformer movies.

    Dez, what are your thoughts about THE DEVIL INSIDE trailer. Paramount Pictures will release it next January, meaning it'll have massive studio muscle backing it. It's set in Rome and was really creeped out by it. What do you say?

  28. @Novia
    Paul would've been great in this one....

    @Movies
    I haven't heard of it before, and it sounds like a horror, which I don't watch ... I will check it out and tell you.

  29. They need to let Transformers die already. Changing the lead actor won't improve it in any way.

    And i might check out Les Miserable. Its the only thing here that really interests me.

    And i'm actually slowly watching Battlestar on netflix. Good so far imo, although i don't see why it needs a movie adaption

  30. I think Bryan was probably a huge fan of the show as a kid, and wants to fulfill his childhood dream :)
    I didn't like the show, so I'm not overly excited, but I do love sf

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hugh Jackman as Valjean is growing on me. Russell Crowe can't be Javert. Just doesn't work. I would have pegged Anne Hathaway as more of an Eponine.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ah, there's a bunch of young actresses fighting for the other two female roles, I think Hayden Pennetiere and some other girls are in the running.

    ReplyDelete
  33. To those who doubt Crowe's singing abilities, he's actually an accomplished musician. He's got a deep, throaty voice which should make him suitable for a musical role. I'm down for this though I'd be much more thrilled if the female cast is someone like Cate Blanchett, but hey, I suppose Anne can sing.

    I agree w/ you Dez, that role for Charlize Theron doesn't interest me either.
