Midday starts this October in Russia

Straight from Russia at the beginning of the week arrives stunning trailer for their new six part science fiction series MIDDAY (Полдень) which will hit their streamers Kion and Okko October 1st starring Maxim Matveyev, Yuri Kolokolnikov and Yuliya Snigir! 

 

 

THE EARTH

 has become the embodiment of humanistic utopia. The head of the Board for Contacts with Extraterrestrial Civilizations, Rudolf Sikorski, instructs Maxim Kammerer to find Lev Abalkin, a progressor who mysteriously disappeared after contact with the super civilization of the Wanderers. TheAbalkin group explored the planet Hope, which died as a result of a monstrous experiment conducted there by the Wanderers. After contact with them, Abalkin kills his partner and flies to Earth to launch a process similar to that which destroyed Hope. Maxim manages to get into the trail of Abalkin, but he is always one step ahead of him.

The adaptation of Bulgakov's famous novel switched its title from Voland to MASTER AND MARGARITA  (Мастер и Маргарита) and should finally arrive to Russian cinemas January 25th after a very long wait and delays and today you can see the wildly fantastic and visually breathtaking trailer. 

 

THE STORY OF THE FILM IS SET IN

Moscow, 1930s. A famous writer (August Dil) on the rise of his career suddenly finds himself at the center of a literary scandal. The performance based on his play is removed from the repertoire, colleagues

defiantly avoid meeting, in a matter of days he turns into an outcast. Shortly thereafter, he meets Margarita (Yuliya Snigir), who becomes his lover and muse. Inspired by her love and support, the writer takes on a new novel in which the characters are people from his environment, and the main character is the mysterious Voland, the prototype of which is a recent acquaintance of a foreigner. The writer plunges headlong into the world of his novel and gradually ceases to notice how fiction and reality are intertwined into one. The movie was directed by the amazing Michael Lockshin who previously did the spectacular Silver Skates. Hitrovka is out in cinemas May 18th

FOUR (Хитровка. Знак четырёх) which should be out May 18th. Moscow, 1902. The famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky (Konstantin Kryukov), in search of inspiration for staging a new play, decides to get acquainted with the life of the city "bottom". He turns to Vladimir Gilyarovsky, a recognized expert on the Moscow slums, for help. Together they go to the legendary bandit Hitrovka and find themselves embroiled in the investigation of the murder of a mysterious local resident - an Indian Sikh with a dark past. The movie will see Russian star Ilya Malanin playing Ivan Demarin, a young officer of tsar Peter I’s First Guard, who, on the instructions of the great tsar, finds himself in the depths of frozen Siberia in the frontier city of Tobolsk. Another interesting historical project coming from Russia was epic TV series BLOODY MISTRESS (Krovavaya Barinya) which aired earlier this year on their national television,  based on the biography of XVIII century landowner Darya Saltykova who lived during the rule of Catherine II. Yuliya Snigir plays the baronnes who was called Saltychikha by her serfs. She was infamous for brutally torturing hundreds of peasants, for which "Russian Elizabeth Bathory" was imprisoned in an underground prison, where she spent 33 years until her death. The series
