We are still in Russia as Hollywood is sleeping and I have first images for you from historical epic movie THE BATTLE OF MOLODI (Молодинская битва) which will arrive to cinemas in November 2027 directed by Konstantin Buslov and with Mikhail Porechenkov, Nikita Kologriviy, Peter Rykov, Alexander Ustyugov, Fyodor Lavrov, Oleg Vasilkov, Dmitry Kulichkov, Vladimir Lyubimtsev, Alexander Fisenko, Fyodor Malyshev, Diana Ogai and Leonela Manturova leading the cast of the film that depicts famous 1572 battle during the reign of Ivan the Terrible when 60,000 brave Russians faced against the horde of 120,000 wild Tatars! WHAT IS THE STORY OF THE FILM?

 The fight between the Russian troops under the leadership of the princes Mikhail Vorotynsky and Dmitry Khvorostinina and the army of the Crimean Khan Devleta I Gire, which also included Turkish and Nogai detachments, became one of those that will determine the future of the country. Despite the considerable numerical superiority, the Crimean Turkish army was forced to turn and run away and suffered heavy losses. Thesignificance of the victory was huge, it allowed Russia to defend independence, unity, as well as control over Kazan and Astrakhan.1572. One year after the burning of Moscow by the army of the Crimean Khanate, the enemy is again on the way. Now the goal of the Crimean Khan is a complete seizure of power in the Moscow state. The Russian army was tied in battles on the western front, the Tsar was in Novgorod. A small army is defending Moscow. To resist enslavement, units of "oprichniki" join forces with the regular army. By using a ruse to lure the invading horde of Crimean Khan Devlet Giray away from Moscow, the troops, led by commanders Vorotynsky and Khvorostinin, bear the brunt of the attack!

 movies starting with the trailer for latest fairy tale movie adaptation MOROZKO with our dearest Russian actor Kirill Zaytsev which is out October 22nd! 

  THE FILM

follows Marfa and Nastya who are half-sisters and best friends, and they cope not only with their grumpy mother, but also with ancient magic, because of which winter has not come in their village for many decades. In the famous fairy tale step mother hates her step daughter and banishes her to the woods in the middle of the winter where she selflessly saves Morozko and is then covered in gold and fortune by him to much chagrin of her step mother. By the end of the movie the girls manage to overcome all obstacles, drive away the evil witch, melt Morozko’s heart, and also find love. See the trailer below:

 In the distant future, Earthlings help less advanced civilizations overcome the difficult stages of evolution. He is destined to become Don Rumata Estorsky, a wealthy aristocrat who enjoys fighting, drinking, and women. The Progressors' main rule is not to directly interfere with the natural course of history, selectively helping a few Enlighteners avoid destruction. But Anton also has a personal interest, which he concealed from the institute. Somewhere here, in Arkanar, his father has disappeared without a trace.

FROM NEW RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE MOVIE

Even if you have not read the story, which would be weird given that it is one of Russia's most famous fairy tales, you have probably seen the famous painting by Illya Repin of the beloved underwater tale, but now we also have the first images from the big screen movie adaptation of SADKO(Садко). The tale was previously turned into a classic movie back in 1953. The new film is set to hit theatres in March 2028. Ivan Oganesov is directing this marvelous sea adventure. The new version will have a musical tone to it as well. I will post a trailer as soon as we get one.

THE STORY OF THE FILM FOLOWS

 legendary gusli player Sadko, who, penniless but with his gusli slung over his shoulder, returns to Veliky Novgorod, the ever bustling seafaring and trade capital of Old Russia, after long wanderings. By chance, he meets Princess Lyubava and immediately falls in love. However, evil lady Glafira forces the girl to marry the wealthy tsar for a large ransom. To win his beloved's hand, Sadko makes a deal with the Sea King down in the Kingdom of the Sea. 

 WHO WILL BE IN THE CAST?

 Back in November I told you that young  Anton Rogachev was set as the lead next to Anna Peresild as the princess and Nikolai Valuev, who has been cast as a troll. Nikita Kologrivy and Elizaveta Ishchenko will play a battle sailor Buslai and a warrior Randgrid. The cast will also include Yuri Stoyanov, Roman Vasiliev, Kristina Babushkina, Alexey Dmitriev, Robert Zakharyan, Alina Babenko and other actors.

Russian streamer Wink and their broadcaster NTV have finished production on their eight part action-adventure drama IT'S HARD TO BE A GOD (Трудно быть богом) based on the novella of the same name by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. With the sets that are a combination of medieval European and Eastern architecture, the series was shot in Iran and Moscow with over 600 builders, engineers, artists, sculptors, and decorators working on it for five months. A whole city was built including the lavish Condor palace. Hope we get a trailer soon!

To make the cast international, the producers have given the role of Rumata in the series to Serbia's hottest movie star, the wildly handsome and stunningly beautiful Aleksandar Radojičić who thus joins another Serbian star Milosh Bikovich in the Russian movie and TV world. Sergei Bezrukov plays Condor. The cast also includes Victoria Isakova, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Nikita Kologrivy, Fyodor Lavrov, Vladimir Yumatov, Nikolai Kozak, stunning Nina Senicar actress from your spy's country of Vojvodina joins the international part of the cast. The series will also include Irina Pautova, Lev Zulkarnaev, Ravshana Kurkova, Victor Dobronravov, Artemy Milgram, Ivan Agapov, Maria Denisova, Boris Zverev, Daniil Kiselev, Yana Sexte and others.

Russia is really preparing a lot of historical dramas right now and we can expect a lot of new series from the genre coming to the small screens later this year. Among them is one that I mentioned a few weeks ago but today I have exclusive first images from the sets of PURE (Чистые) historical series fromfamous Russian director and producer Fedor Bondarchuk who also stars in it. This eight episode costume drama stars one of our most favourite of the Russian actors, super charismatic Rinal Mukhametov in the ensemble that also includes Mark Eidelshtein, Anton Filipenko, Evgeniy Koryakovskiy, Danil Vorobev and our old friend Nikita Kologriviy from enchanting Russian fairy tale Wish of the Fairy Fish.

THIS PERIOD SET SERIES

will take us back to Petersburg, 1903. A world of luxury and leisure for men, a world of fear and submission for women. Kseniya (Sofia Sinitsina) and Stesha (Diana Milyutina) work in an underground brothel under the control of a pretty and ruthless lady. Girls sell men their bodies, feelings, flirting and the illusion of love. It seems they have nothing but beauty. In fact, they have access to a secret power - purity of soul and desire for freedom.
