amidst her family’s financial struggles. After multiple disagreements with her mother, Sybylla is offered the chance to move to the Caddagat estate, where Mrs. Bossier (
Anna Chancellor) takes her under her wing to “refine” Sybylla and prepare her for marriage. Eager to move, it’s not long before Sybylla falls in love with life at Caddagat, where she meets Harold Beecham, the owner of
