Alex Pettyfer will star for the first time on the telly

In the whole slate of new science fiction series, Netflix has just ordered a seven episode sf mini series THE I LAND and has hired Alex Pettyfer, Kate Bosworth and Natalie Martinez. Bosworth is also producing the series to be directed by Neil LaBute who is also the showrunner and writer.

SECOND SEASON TEASER!

We continue with epic treats, people, after the teaser for The Last Kingdom two days ago! Canal + has released the first teaser for the second season of their smash hit historical series VERSAILLES charting the life of the famous Sun King which should, as far as we've heard, air this spring and will again be broadcast later this year for US audience by Ovation, after the first season became their best watched programme ever. BBC Two will again air the English language series over in Great Britain. The first season was sold in 135 countries around the world.

Our beloved George Blagden will put on the lace, silk and royal frills as the Sun King again! The biggest budgeted French series ever has been greenlit for second season even before the airing of the opening one in Winter 2015! Season two looks at the dark underbelly of power as Louis sees the dream of his grand palace crumbling before his eyes. With phase one complete, most of France’s eminent lords and ladies now live under the Sun King’s roof. Drugs, gambling and alcohol are rampant, as nobles begin to poison each other in order to get closer to him. Blinded by passion for his mistress, Louis refuses to listen to the advice of the church and his closest advisors and leaves for war against arch enemy William of Orange, but he must discover the path back to light and redemption to save his vision of Versailles. THE NIX is a sprawling generational tale that focuses on a hippie era mother who gets national press exposure for throwing rocks at a conservative governor on the presidential campaign trail. Before you know it, her estranged son, a professor, aspiring novelist and general underachiever, seizes an opportunity to get himself out of debt by writing a scathing profile of his estranged mother.

'THE DOMESTICS' SF MOVIE

Now, wouldn't these two make a lovely couple? According to fresh news, Tyler Hoechlin, whom you are currently watching as the latest reincarnation of Superman in Supergirl TV series, and lovely Kate Bosworth, are negotiating to take the lead roles in post apocalyptic thriller movie THE DOMESTICS. Although the title does not really reveal it, the story takes place in a futuristic wasteland where a young couple travels through a harrowing, gang ravaged countryside in an attempt to make it home. Mike P. Nelson is both writing and directing the feature film.

'THRONE OF GLASS' SAGA

TO BE ADAPTED INTO 'QUEEN OF SHADOWS' TV SERIES

And an info for all the book lovers: as 'Deadline' reports today, Hulu has bought adaptation rights on Sarah J. Maas'  THRONE OF GLASS epic bestseller and will turn it into a TV series QUEEN OF SHADOWS with Anna Foerster of Underworld: Blood Wars directing the pilot.

QUEEN OF SHADOWS follows Celaena Sardothien, a complicated female assassin with a mysterious past who only wants her freedom. Now beholden to an increasingly tyrannous king, Celaena will become a reluctant hero against the multitudes of forces that threaten to destroy her world. Along the way she will make friends, enemies, and lovers, and be wildly underestimated by all of them.

Here's a series for you if you like them British: BBC has announced their work on the new historical thriller drama SS-GB starring Kate Bosworth and Sam Riley in the lead roles.  It will be a five part World War Two set small screen adaptation of popular novel by Len Deighton with the script being written by screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade! The story of SS-GB takes place in London 1941 in an alternative reality in which the Battle of Britain is lost, Winston Churchill is dead, King George is held prisoner by the SS, the possibility of imminent military rule is a constant, pockets of Resistance continue to present a threat and neighbours spy on neighbours.

DISNEY'S 'DISENCHANTED'

SEQUEL TO AMY ADAMS FILM
Since Hollywood likes fairy tales in recent years, the latest news from Tinseltown say that Disney has lifted 'status hiatus' label from ENCHANTED 2 and is fast tracking the work on the sequel of the super popular contemporary fairy tale movie which scored high success around the world back in 2007 and even got Oscar nominations for some of its songs. The sequel will be titled DISENCHANTED and will be directed by Anne Fletcher, but both the plot and the original stars who might return are kept under wraps. As you probably remember the original movie launched Amy Adams into movie stardom and had a very strong supporting cast in James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey, Julie Andrews and Susan Sarandon.

'ONE FAT SUMMER' YA BOOK

BECOMES 'MEASURE OF A MAN' MOVIE ADAPTATION

And if you have kids or like teen movies, 'Deadline' writes that Robert Lipsyte's bestselling and award winning YA novel ONE FAT SUMMER will be turned into MEASURE OF A MAN movie with Jim Loach directing the coming of age story about an overweight and underconfident teenager (Blake Cooper) who experiences a turning point summer in which he learns to stand up for himself. Liana Liberato will play Michelle Marks, Cooper’s antagonistic older sister, while Luke Benward plays Pete Marino, the crush of every girl in town who befriends Cooper, in the movie which also has Donald Sutherland in the cast.
