MR. MALCOLM'S LIST
FIRST LAVISH MOVIE PHOTOS
If you are, on the other hand, in the mood for something woke, a chokywoky delight with a large pinch of historical revision awaits you in the first photos from MR. MALCOLM'S LIST period set costume drama movie! This Regency era drama, directed by Emma Holly Jones, sees Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù portraying the titular hero. In the film, which you can get an exclusive first look today in the photos from Vanity Fair, Dìrísù plays the dashing Mr. Malcolm, a wealthy and elegant suitor looking for a bride who meets all the qualifications he has on his list. Freida Pinto plays Selina Dalton, a woman who helps her friend Julia Thistlewaite (Zawe Ashton) get revenge on Mr. Malcolm after he rejects her for falling short of his lofty criteria. The film, which arrives to theatres July 12st this summer, is based on the book of the same name by Suzanne Allain and the cast is rounded out by Oliver Jackson-Cohen as the sociable Lord Cassidy; Ashley Park as the bubbly Gertie Covington, and Theo James as the debonair Captain Henry Ossory! The book previously had a short movie adaptation with more or less the same actors. Stay tuned for the first trailer which should come soon, methinks.
The plot of MR. MALCOLM'S LIST is solala, but I love the pretty costumes.
ReplyDeleteI will defo give that one a wide skippity skip, it seems both woke and misandrist too.
DeleteYes, woke and misandrist. Malcolm goes down the drain. What? All The Musketeeers are white? What are we coming to? Great cast, but whjy insist in the same story. Dumas wrote such wonderful novels that have never arrived to the screen. Gattocito I have a long personal letter to answer, and lamb chops to marinate, but don't think our Napoleon talk is over. Just give me time.
ReplyDeleteYou do remember that I had news sometime ago that the French are also preparing Black Musketeer :)
DeleteEeeewwww you eat poor little lambs... but what will Miss Marry say?
it's Mary's fault for not looking after her little lambs. I also have qualms, in fact I don't like lamb, too fatty, but it's been a standard fare of Passover since Biblical times.
DeleteI rather thought, probably because you are a gattofila, that you were vegetarian like moiself. Happy Passover, if indeed it is a Passover. We have one more Easter, Orthodox one, to go this Sunday and then 1st of May which is a nonworking holiday here since forever.
DeleteI’m not a cat-lover. I’m a carnivore feline myself. Jokes aside, In the past, I have tried (when I was with vegan boyfriends) to skip meat, but to no avail. There is so much I cannot eat anymore, and being anemic to boot, meat is a luxury I cannot do without.
DeleteThanks for the greetings. Yes, the Angel of Death passed over our house (so far, the holiday ends on Saturday), but so did the Angel of Prosperity.
An early wish for a happy Orthodox Easter.
Heh, United States is , I think, the only country in the West that does not celebrate May the First. We have Labor Day in September
Do you eat beets? You should eat grated beets as a salad a few times a week for anemia. Drink nettle tea also (it does amazing wonders) and blueberry juice if it is not too expensive over there.
DeleteMayDay is massive here as it is the only holiday celebrated outside at picnics, fairs etc. We have about 150,000 people going out to lake Palic to eat burgers, visit the ZOO, and spend their money at fairs and entertainment parks.
oh I wish I was in Belgrade for May Day. I do eat berries of all kinds. Nettle tea, I've used as hair rinse (good for dandruff), but beets are banished from my kitchen (my brothers hates them.0 Thanks for the tips!
DeleteYes, nettle tea makes hair silky, but you should also drink it daily as it is the most perfect remedy for blood. You can also put nettle seeds, if you can find them, in a jar of honey for better blood. You can grate one little beet every day and eat it as a salad, or mix it with one grated carrot and some yogurt or sour cream and eat that for dindins with some brown bread. You can also mix a jar of honey with walnuts, cranberries and lemon and eat spoonfuls a couple of times a day, that does wonders for blood and also cleansing. Trust me, I'm a herbalist grand witch of the highest order.
Deleteof course you are a grand warlock of the highest order. i once was an herbalist myself. I will try your potions, but only those my body allows. I have become allergic to walnuts and my ulcer barrs me from having citrics
DeleteOy, then just honey with nettle seeds. I don't know how you survive without citruses, I eat two oranges, a lemon and a tangerine or two a day, plus an apple, tomato and a banana, and that is a daily staple for me.
DeleteI had to laugh @ "a chokywoky delight with a large pinch of historical revision". I'll be passing on that one..
ReplyDeleteIt chokes so much....
DeleteAmazing costumes! Historical films increase day by day. But Mr. Malcom's list looks different.
ReplyDeleteSadly, we don't have a lot of them this year, I wish there were more.
DeleteI don’t mind Eva Green, but it really just doesn’t sound like my cuppa tea overall.
ReplyDeleteI cannot stand her.
