Cooper, Emily Browning and Dan Stevens. The Newlyn School of artists flourished at the beginning of the 20th Century and the film focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, which included Alfred Munnings and Laura and Harold Knight. The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britain's most sought-after artists, is at the centre of the complex love triangle, involving aspiring artist Florence Carter-Wood and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate. True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the approaching shadow of The Great War.
TELEVISION HEADLINES
In TV news today, you might get excited about LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof's new project: titled THE LEFTOVERS, and based on a novel by Tom Perrotta, the HBO show will follow a group of
people who are left behind after the Rapture occurs, with millions vanishing from Earth. Lindelof recently worked on huge sf projects PROMETHEUS, STAR TREK 2 and WORLD WAR Z. Meanwhile, GAME OF THRONES season three has apparently added two new names into the cast: Mackenzie Crook will play a sadistic mercenary Vargo Hoat, nicknamed "The Goat", while Tara Fitzgerald will play Selyse Florent, the wife of Stannis Baratheon. And it has been officially revealed that the second season of super popular fantasy show ONCE UPON A TIME will feature Aladin, his enemy Jafar and Little Mermaid Ariel!

COMES A BRIGHT DAY
Speaking of British films, today you can check out the trailer for romantic thriller COMES A BRIGHT DAY an interesting film set during the armed robbery of one of London's most exclusive jewellers.Sometimes funny, often dark, always captivating and never what you expect. The cast includes gorgeous Imogen Poots, whom you remember as Michael Fassbender's love interest in CENTURION and
Never seen once upon a time but now I want to
ReplyDeleteit's a nice show, the best new show this season around the world.
DeleteWell, it looks like I'll have to watch 28 Days Later because I do not remember him at all...not even a clue...hmm, strange because I've watched it a gazillon times.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to hear some more news about Game of Thrones, Dezz, thank you!! I'm beginning to go through withdrawals.
not him, her! Imogen Poots.
DeleteWithdrawal from GOT abstinence? :)
LOL Well let me go back and watch the preview again and see if SHE looks familiar *blushing*
DeleteOh my gosh, she's the teenage girl - boy did she grow up!!!
Deleteshe's very pretty isn't she? Loved her in CENTURION! Was mesmerized by her there ....
DeleteSpelled Aladdin wrong, geez the shame! Even a cat knew that. And Jafar, oh this should be good. And with both of them maybe Abu and Iago will show up too.
ReplyDeleteeat my shorts, cat, it's an Arabian name and I don't have to spell it the English way :P
DeletePfftt still looks better with two D's instead of one.
Deletepfft, why would we write two Ds when only one is pronounced, cat? You should use Serbian as a good example, it's phonetical language, which means everything is pronounced as it is written and vice versa :)
DeleteComes a Bright Day looks interesting. Love British films.
ReplyDeletewe do have a special love for British and Irish stars and films!
DeleteAn interesting trailer Dez ~ Thanks for all the updates ~
ReplyDeleteWe will be watching Spiderman this week ~
be welcome, glad you liked it! Have great time in the cinema!
DeleteOoh, I like the trailer for Comes a Bright Day. I do love British films. But next time give us a photo of Kevin McKidd without a mask. :))
ReplyDeleteblame it on the director :) it's not me who put the mask on his lovely cruel face :)
DeleteHubba hubba...the Prince Charming hunk from Once Upon A Time is all I need for an entire season. Please...spare the rest. Just put him shirtless in every scene.
ReplyDeletekeep your paws of him, he's all mine! Hope you didn't miss my spotlight on him earlier this winter when he won BEST TV HUNK poll here.
DeleteI love British films and so I'm looking forward to these two.
ReplyDeletethey are always very different from Hollywood films and we love it!

ReplyDeleteit will be $100 just for passing through, you know...
DeleteThe Leftovers I'm hoping is a spoof. I hate the whole Rapture thing. It sounds ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for more Once Upon A Time, but it's hilarious that Disney is mining it's own fairytale vault for material. Jafar is strictly s Disney creation for the cartoon.
yep, they are mixing everything in it, wouldn't be surprised if Winnie the Poo appears in it too :)
DeleteGotta watch a show with two guys bleeding from head wounds, sitting between a woman. Uh huh.
ReplyDeleteI have managed to miss Once Upon A Time. I need to catch up.
........dhole
those are not strictly speaking guys, but male zombies :)
DeleteSummer In February looks enchanting. A movie about a time out of place that has that special "this will never come again" feeling to it. I will like this one very much.
ReplyDeleteI just can't watch these post-Rapture shows so The Leftovers will be left off my to-watch list.
Comes A Bright Day looks interesting in a "different" sort of way. Quirky and yes dark as you say, but worth the watch I believe. Imogene is of course a beauty and I love to watch Timothy Spall work. He's had some great roles (NOT the Harry Plodder movies) and the man really loves to work. I keep forgetting just how many friends you have darling. Josef and Craig both in one film, do dish with us on this dear.
yes, I adore films set in Irish or British seaside, especially in Autumn. Would love to experience that myself once.... that climate is something that suits me.
DeleteJo Altin is a naughty boy actually. He promised me an interview, and forgot about it, and I have other two interviews waiting with BORGIAS and SPARTACUS actors, but sometimes the interviews never happen due to actors' busy schedules.
I like that poster for Summer in February.
ReplyDeletethanks, I made it myself :)
DeleteI'll only be interested in The Leftovers if it isn't as twist/mystery ridden as LOST.
ReplyDeletethe creator said it won't be like that and that it won't have the strange mythology.
DeleteThank you for sharing Comes a bright day...it looks really interesting. It has been a while since I like a robber movie. the last that I enjoyed so much is The Inside Man
ReplyDeleteglad you liked it, Novia :)
DeleteThe Leftovers sounds like it could be good!
ReplyDeleteI need more Game of Thrones!
ah, you shall wait a long time for new GOT, Danzel!
DeleteA lot of interesting new characters in ONCE UPON... Might need to watch the first season soon. And yay for COMES A BRIGHT DAY.
ReplyDeletethe kids might like it too, Josh!
DeleteOhh...I want her grey woolly sweater! So stylish and my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteHow are you Dez!?
melted, thanks for asking :) It's been above 117*F for two weeks now without stop, and they say we shall have 122*F this Sunday :)
DeleteI really gotta check out Once Upon a Time! It sounds like a good show!!
ReplyDeleteit's quite fun and visually lovely!
DeleteOmg, I lovveee all the Once Upon a Time news!! I can't wait for it to come back. yayayaya :)
ReplyDeleteDamon Lindenoff is a genius!! I used to love him and watch all his interviews during Lost. His twitter is also very funny. Creative genius!

DeleteHi Dez I coming to see what nice you have, always nice and fun trailers LOL
ReplyDeletehey, Gloriacita, gracias for coming by :)
DeleteThe hollow crown almost reminds me of Game of Thrones.. cant wait
ReplyDeleteit is such an epic saga! A huge project and shouldn't go unnoticed, so I'm spotlighting it this Sunday, although I already wrote about it two times!
