FREAKS OUT TRAILER
AWARD WINNING ITALIAN DRAMA
We're international today, first over in Italy, a trailer and poster for FREAKS OUT a fantasy movie which is out in Italy in October but has already
won eight awards at Venice Film Festival. Matilde (Aurora Giovinazzo), Cencio (Pietro Castellitto), Fulvio (Claudio Santamaria) and Mario (Giancarlo Martini) are family when the 2nd world war hits Rome. Israel (Giorgio Tarabassi), the owner of their circus, disappears in the attempt to find a getaway overseas for them all. The four friends are in disarray. Without anyone looking after them but above all, without the circus, they lose their social placement and they feel only as sideshow attractions on the loose in a city at war. The 14 million worth movie was both directed and written by Gabriele Mainetti.
Freaks are out in Italian cinemas this October |

I wish Freaks Out was a series. The subject feels good, but I have a problem with movies (and documentaries), Yoo short. I need continuation, I'm left hungry for more
ReplyDeleteWell, you never know, RAI maybe turns it into a mini series, this is what European broadcasters often do / they shot a film and then with the leftover material create a mini series out of it for airing on their channel. It is almost always like that here in my country, actually our Oscar representative DARA FROM JASENOVAC is currently being turned into a longer TV series which will follow Dara after the Nazi camp as well. I have a feeling they will do the same with BAD BLOOD (Necista krv) our latest period set epic movie set in the time of Ottomans.
DeleteGood news indeed. Praying those series will get english subtitles soon.
DeleteFingers crossed!
DeleteFreaks Out looks like it might be fun.
ReplyDeleteNot for them, though LOL
DeleteI would like to watch The Pack!
ReplyDeleteMe too, what a nasty old snake she was.
DeleteFreaks Out looks different. A little shocking here and there, but overall something I could see myself enjoying.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting adding fantasy element into WW2, sort of looks like something our director (and a very vile creature privately) Emir Kusturica would make.
DeleteI am down for the FREAKS, looks good... helloomyspyfriend...
ReplyDeleteI bet it has great music in it!
DeleteThe Pact for the win! Do you think we'll be able to see it in the states?
ReplyDeleteIt is possible as she is known over there as well, especially if they make it their Oscar representative. And plus the director has worked in Hollywood many times.
