 THE PACT MOVIE TRAILER
 KAREN BLIXEN BIOPIC
The Pact aired in Denmark earlier this August
Over in Denmark, we have a biopic of another famous writer: THE PACT, which already played in domestic cinemas, was directed by Bille August.  Aged 63 Karen Blixen (Birthe Neumann), the author of Out of Africa, is at the pinnacle of her fame and next in line to win the Nobel Prize for literature. It has been 17 years since she gave up her famous African adventure only to return to Denmark in ruins. Devastated by syphilis and having lost the love of her life she has reinvented herself as a literary sensation. She is an isolated genius, however, until the day she lays eyes on a handsome 30 year old poet (Simon Bennebjerg). She promises him literary stardom if he in return will obey her
The film was directed by Hollywood director Bille August
unconditionally - even at the cost of him losing everything else in his life. The film is a heart-wrenching story of a sorcerer and her apprentice, about how far you will go for love and art.

  1. I wish Freaks Out was a series. The subject feels good, but I have a problem with movies (and documentaries), Yoo short. I need continuation, I'm left hungry for more

    1. Well, you never know, RAI maybe turns it into a mini series, this is what European broadcasters often do / they shot a film and then with the leftover material create a mini series out of it for airing on their channel. It is almost always like that here in my country, actually our Oscar representative DARA FROM JASENOVAC is currently being turned into a longer TV series which will follow Dara after the Nazi camp as well. I have a feeling they will do the same with BAD BLOOD (Necista krv) our latest period set epic movie set in the time of Ottomans.

  3. Freaks Out looks different. A little shocking here and there, but overall something I could see myself enjoying.

    1. It is interesting adding fantasy element into WW2, sort of looks like something our director (and a very vile creature privately) Emir Kusturica would make.

    1. It is possible as she is known over there as well, especially if they make it their Oscar representative. And plus the director has worked in Hollywood many times.
