'WILD MOUNTAIN THYME'
PAIRS UP JAMIE DORNAN AND HOLLIDAY GRAINGER
Well, this is quite a hot pair, isn't it? John Patrick Shanley will turn his hit Broadway stage play Outside Mullingar into a romantic movie titled WILD MOUNTAIN THYME and he has already set lead stars: Jamie Dornan and Holliday Grainger will play the lovebirds! They are ready to
peddle the project over at Cannes with the story set in the enchanting landscapes of rural Ireland. Dornan and Grainger will play obstinate star-crossed lovers, whose families are caught up in a feud over a hotly contested patch of land that separates their two farms.

I like both of your today's 'offer'. Good stuff to be looking forward to!
ReplyDelete'The Gilded Age' seems very relevant to our times: glitter on the surface, corruption underneath; big gap between the rich and the poor. It has 'ingredients' that go well: an orphan-daughter of a general, rigid aunts, love, beautiful costumes, etc.
And above it all, the producer magician Julian Fellowes of "Downtown Abbey".
'Wild Mountain Thyme' looks very attractive: good story, beautiful actors and costumes, stunning setting of Ireland.
The costumes at that decade of the 19th century were very interesting as that was around the time when ladies stopped wearing gowns with big ball skirts and started wearing tighter ones with the flowing big tails from behind.
DeleteI saw "Outside Mullingar" on stage a couple of years ago. I'm surprised it's being made into a movie. But I'll go see it just to compare!
ReplyDeleteWas it boring? Is it period set?
DeleteNo, it's a vaguely contemporary setting in rural Ireland. It wasn't boring per se but not exactly exciting either. The two main characters are emotionally damaged and lonely. It struck me as a bit predictable, plot-wise. I'm just surprised there's enough there for someone to consider making a movie of it.
DeleteAnd, sadly, I don't think Dornan will bring any excitement in it, he is gorgeous, but such a bland actor borderline zombie.
DeleteI agree with Duta, both of today's offerings are good ones. We love a good period piece with great costumes, but we love the photo of Jamie in all white that you have displayed even more ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of him ever so much!
DeleteThis dress is awesome...Costumes add so much...
ReplyDeleteThat is just an illustration I chose for the post :) I think it is one of the Astor or Vanderbilt girls.
DeleteI want that white sweater!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it gorgeous?
DeleteGrainger... Why doesn't that ring a bell?
ReplyDeleteShe is quite out there, always loved her....
DeleteI'll need to up my game a bit.
