uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) for help,
she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late. The film is directed by people who worked on THE LION KING, PRINCE OF EGYPT, RATATOUILLE.
HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
If you liked Disney's TANGLED, and I know you did, it's good news that a short film TANGLED EVER AFTER will be featured with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D this January showing the royal wedding of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn (Zachary Levi).
Although not officially announced this is probably a sign that the sequel to TANGLED is also in works. Variety reports that novel Q by Evan Mandery will be adapted into a film following a man visited by a future version of himself, who tells him not to marry the love of his life. He agrees and spends the rest of his life trying to undo that fateful choice and find the only woman he ever loved. One of the books you also loved, and which I wrote about earlier too, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN might be adapted by Tim Burton according to "Deadline". As you remember, the story is set in a mysterious orphanage, which used to house children with special and dangerous abilities.

The second trailer for today is for Eddie Murphy's new comedy movie A THOUSAND WORDS. As you know he is currently in the spotlight for ditching the host role at the next year's Oscars, which means you won't hear him talking at the Oscar's stage, but you won't hear him talking much in this movie either since he plays a businessman Jack McCall who can't stop talking and will say anything to anyone to get his own way, but then he ends up in serious problems when he lies to the wrong guy, who puts a curse on him giving him A THOUSAND WORDS that he can speak before he dies... The hilarious film should hit cinemas next March after a few years of waiting for the premiere.
Looking forward to Brave. Love me some non-Cars Pixar! As for the Eddie Murphy movie..... eh?
ReplyDeleteTim Burton would be perfect for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. In fact, while I read it, I remember thinking it reminded me a lot of Tim Burton movies.
ReplyDelete@Steve
ReplyDeletehe he amen on non-Cars Pixar :)))
@Emily
it would probably be a natural match :)
Everything here actually interests me, with the exception of A Thousand Words. I don't think Murphy is a bad actor, but the trailer didn't really pique my interest
ReplyDeleteit's kinda like Jim Carrey's LIAR LIAR
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I thought of Liar Liar when I saw the trailer and a little bit of Click too. At least he isn't in a fat suit or doing kids movies. Brave looks great too.
ReplyDeleteand he's not playing ten characters in one film :)
ReplyDeleteAw, Brave looks so good. I might have to borrow a kid and go see that one. Or go by myself. That works too. :)
ReplyDeletespeaking of kids, have you notice those three crazy little red head kids in BRAVE pic next to the king and the queen? I feel those three kids will be hilarious in the film :)))
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Brave, either. It looks wonderfully hilarious and heart-warming. And it's about a daring girl, thank you very much. Whoo Hoo!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take Army Guy to Brave. (It's great to have a little kid around.)
ReplyDeleteMurphy is a DVD kinda thing.
All Disney characters look alike -- don't they have anyone working there any more?
A Thousand Words might be okay, but maybe a more appropriate actor would have been Robin Williams--he needs to talk less.
ReplyDeleteLee
Tossing It Out
A lot of people who I've spoken don't like the look of Brave, but I think it looks really good :D The Tangled short should be pretty cool too, though I'm hoping for no sequel :P
ReplyDeleteNot interested in seeing Tangled 3D but Brave looks interesting enough.
ReplyDeleteBrave looks like it's going to be a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI am loving BRAVE I cannot wait to see iT!
ReplyDelete@Melsy
ReplyDeleteit sure is your kind of girl power film, Melsy :) But I've noticed that animated movies actually have much more female leading characters than the live action ones. It's very interesting.
@MAry
the kid will have great fun with his granny watching BRAVE I'm sure :)
@Lee
ReplyDeleteyou are absolutely right, Lee, Robin would've done miracles with this role, he has the most amazing mimics and grimaces! And he is my favourite comedian in Hollywood.
@Jamie
really? My experience is totally the opposite, everyone here adores the look of BRAVE, the colours are so lovely, the animation so vivid and alive, just look at Merida's hair, it's more beautiful and alive than the real one :)
@DWEi
ReplyDeleteBRAVE should be really good, hopefully as good as HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON was
@Lurk
a total hoot :)
@Scottie
me too, me too!
YAY!!!! BRAVE just looks sooooo pretty! i mean the story sounds entertaining as well, but the ART!!! (also, sort of makes me miss my bright orange hair- hairdye fiasco!)
ReplyDeleteAND i have miss peregrine just waiting on my bookshelf to be delved into! i'm so excited! i hope if burton does it, there is NO depp or... dah! the name's eluding me, you know, that chick... ophelia... what's her name. you know.
Jesus Christ Eddie. How the hell did your career go so wrong?
ReplyDeleteYou had me at TANGLED.
ReplyDeleteDisney films just don't interest me anymore. The classics are great, but I just can't get into the new ones. My favorite is still "Little Mermaid."
ReplyDeleteIf A Thousand Words was made in the 1980s I guarantee I would have loved it but these days Eddie Murphy fails to thrill me. Still, I'll probably check this out for some easy-on-the-eye comedy.
ReplyDeleteBrave AND more Tangled?? THis is a good day!
ReplyDeletecant wait for mr burton's work, also u had a typo there with his name, that eddie murphy movie looks fun, at least the concept is interesting, as for pixar they almost always go a great job with their movies so we'll see
ReplyDelete@Vics
ReplyDeleteoh, my, you had bright orange hair? :) I know that you and Emily went crazy after MISS PEREGRINE after seeing the post on it some time ago at my place :)
@Movies
it's not that bad, just a bit boring :)
@Josh
I had myself on TANGLED too :)
@Maurice
ReplyDeleteyou should check out TANGLED it was done quite in the old fashioned way and it was rather good.
@Dan
you know, I also had an impression of seeing that movie sometime in the 80's :)
@Jessie
good news today, and wait till you see what trailer I have for you in a few hours :)
@Tony
I've noticed the typo :) Pixar's film should be super great
oh my gosh BRAVE is going to be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I must be in a silly mood today because A Thousand Words looks like fun too ;)
it was a good for the movies, Lyndy, and wait till you see what I have in store in a few minutes for Thursday :)
ReplyDeleteBrave looks great! I enjoyed the first Tangled movie but I'm always wary of cash-in sequels.
ReplyDeletethe sequel hasn't been announced yet, so maybe it's not happening at all :) This is just a short film. But I wouldn't mind a sequel, it was a lovely film.
ReplyDeletePrincess fairy tales are all the rage again. Looking forward to BRAVE as you already know, and that poster for Tangled Ever After looks pretty darn cute, too!
ReplyDeleteBRAVE is so captivating, that I just can't take my eyes of the trailer :)
