You already know that one of HOLLYWOOD SPY's most anticipated next year movies is definitely Pixar's animated epic BRAVE which should hit cinemas next June. Today you can check out some new pictures from this delightful movie which features the voices of Kevin McKidd, Julie Walters, Emma Thompson and follows Merida a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). If you liked Disney's TANGLED, and I know you did, it's good news that a short film TANGLED EVER AFTER will be featured with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D this January showing the royal wedding of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn (Zachary Levi).
Although not officially announced this is probably a sign that the sequel to TANGLED is also in works. Variety reports that novel Q by Evan Mandery will be adapted into a film following a man visited by a future version of himself, who tells him not to marry the love of his life. He agrees and spends the rest of his life trying to undo that fateful choice and find the only woman he ever loved. One of the books you also loved, and which I wrote about earlier too, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN might be adapted by Tim Burton according to "Deadline". As you remember, the story is set in a mysterious orphanage, which used to house children with special and dangerous abilities.
The second trailer for today is for Eddie Murphy's new comedy movie A THOUSAND WORDS. As you know he is currently in the spotlight for ditching the host role at the next year's Oscars, which means you won't hear him talking at the Oscar's stage, but you won't hear him talking much in this movie either since he plays a businessman Jack McCall who can't stop talking and will say anything to anyone to get his own way, but then he ends up in serious problems when he lies to the wrong guy, who puts a curse on him giving him A THOUSAND WORDS that he can speak before he dies... The hilarious film should hit cinemas next March after a few years of waiting for the premiere.

Everything here actually interests me, with the exception of A Thousand Words. I don't think Murphy is a bad actor, but the trailer didn't really pique my interest

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I thought of Liar Liar when I saw the trailer and a little bit of Click too. At least he isn't in a fat suit or doing kids movies. Brave looks great too.

A Thousand Words might be okay, but maybe a more appropriate actor would have been Robin Williams--he needs to talk less.

A lot of people who I've spoken don't like the look of Brave, but I think it looks really good :D The Tangled short should be pretty cool too, though I'm hoping for no sequel :P

really? My experience is totally the opposite, everyone here adores the look of BRAVE, the colours are so lovely, the animation so vivid and alive, just look at Merida's hair, it's more beautiful and alive than the real one :)

ReplyDeleteDisney films just don't interest me anymore. The classics are great, but I just can't get into the new ones. My favorite is still "Little Mermaid."
ReplyDeleteIf A Thousand Words was made in the 1980s I guarantee I would have loved it but these days Eddie Murphy fails to thrill me. Still, I'll probably check this out for some easy-on-the-eye comedy.

ReplyDeleteBrave looks great! I enjoyed the first Tangled movie but I'm always wary of cash-in sequels.
ReplyDeletethe sequel hasn't been announced yet, so maybe it's not happening at all :) This is just a short film. But I wouldn't mind a sequel, it was a lovely film.
