CATE BLANCHETT WINS OUR "BEST WHEN NOT LOOKING THEIR BEST" POLL

In a very close finish, Cate Blanchett has won our BEST WHEN NOT LOOKING THEIR BEST poll over equally amazing Toni Collette.
Being the most talented and most expressive actress among the living stars of Hollywood, Cate Blanchett didn't really surprise anyone when she has decided to portray a man in a movie, and not just any man but a rock legend. In 2007 she decided to play one of the incarnations of Bob Dylan in "I'm not There". Although the make-up department did an amazing job transforming her into a man, it was Cate's true talent that created magic on screen, bringing one of the most amazing performances ever to be seen in Hollywood. Even though the movie itself was self-centred, boring and auspiciously confusing, her performance managed to rise above the whole project and stun the critics and the viewers. She was nominated for an Oscar and Bafta that year and managed to win a Golden Globe for the role. She also won tens of other important awards for her portrayal of Bob Dylan.

Toni Collette took the second place with just one vote less. Nobody had any doubts that she will create miracles and wonders after it was announced last year that she will play four roles in "The United States of Tara". Playing a women with multiple personality disorder, she had a special task of playing a man as well. One of her alter-egos is a primitive, macho hillbilly called Buck, who basically represents the inner strength of her main character, Tara. Although not everyone liked the show (I did) everybody agrees that Toni's performance is a historical one, never before seen on television. No wonder she won a Golden Globe for it.

Don't forget to vote in our new poll. It will last till next week and the topic is - MOST PROMISING UPCOMING ACTION STAR. This year has brought us a number of really cool, fresh looking and talented young actors scoring huge roles in the current or future blockbusters. Check them out above in the poll: Chris Pine STAR TREK, Chris Hemsworth THOR, Michael Fassbender CENTURION, Sam Worthington TERMINATOR, AVATAR, CLASH OF THE TITANS, Tom Hardy MAD MAX and Taylor Kitsch JOHN CARTER OF MARS. You can vote multiple times.

NICOLE KIDMAN AND ROBERT PATTINSON IN "BEL AMI"

Oh, what a strange casting choice. According to "Screen Daily" snow beauty Nicole Kidman and every young girl's romantic obsession ,Robert Pattinson, will join their forces in an upcoming British film "Bel Ami".
It is an adaptation of the Guy De Maupassant famous novel, and it will be directed by acclaimed British theater directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod. The film centers around a man in 1890's Paris who ascends to the top of high society by sleeping with the most prominent and powerful women in the city. The film will be shot next spring in London and Budapest.
Now, when I come to think about it, there is a similarity between Kidman and Pattinson. They are both very inexpressive, reserved and cold in their acting, but that's exactly what makes them perfect for the roles of snobbish and uptight members of the high class. I hope for the good costumes as well.

EXCLUSIVE CONCEPT ART FOR THE UPCOMING SF THRILLER "TRIBES OF OCTOBER"

Here's some cool concept art from the future post-apocalyptic thriller "Tribes of October" by Philippe Martinez. The principal photography has started in August and the stellar cast has already been gathered. Apparently Ray Stevenson, Jaime King, Stephen Moyer, Robert Duvall, and James Caan have all signed up for this new film.
Here's the plot: In a battle of biblical proportions under an eternally crimson sky in post-apocalyptic New York city, detective Michael Hillburn must cross the city on the most dangerous night of the year to avenge the death of a fellow officer and save May Kelly, the girl he loves, from the clutches of the elusive crime boss, Lord Akuma.

EXCLUSIVE TRAILER FOR "PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME" IS FINALLY HERE!

The trailer for next year's epic adventure "Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time" is finally here and you can check it out over at my official YouTube channel.
With amazing sets, dazzling costumes, exotic atmosphere and charming actors, it promises to be one of the biggest blockbusters in the following period (possibly with even bigger ambitions).
There are some really stunning scenes in the movie, the cinematography is great, and I also like the choreography in the fight scenes. The only problem remains whether people will be able to swallow Gyllenhaal's face in this kind of movie, but let's hope for the best. We really could you use more glamorous adventures in Hollywood.

LISA KUDROW WORKING ON A NEW HILARIOUS TV COMEDY

According to "Variety", ex "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow is preparing a comedy for "Showtime" that centers around the memoirs of actor-writer Craig Chester.
In his 2003 memoirs "Why the Long Face? The Adventures of a Truly Independent Actor" Chester has described his bitter-sweet world of "the gay son in a family of born-again Christian parents and his experiences as an actor in the indie film world."
The TV show, called "Rapture", would be from the point of view of 9-year-old Chester who is discovering his sexual orientation while handling his devout mom who has visions of Christ juxtaposed with a rock 'n' roll guitar player father who fears his wife is losing it.
The plot seems hilarious enough for a fresh new comedy show. And Lisa could fit in well playing his religious-freak mom :)

"THE SECRET HISTORY OF TOM TRUEHEART" JUMPS ONTO THE BIG SCREEN

According to "The Hollywood Reporter" family adventure "The Secret History of Tom Trueheart", based on Ian Beck's young -adult novel, will be made into a film.
The book centers on Tom Trueheart, a timid boy, living in the shadow of his six brothers — all named Jack. These same six fabled, heroic Jacks who had carried out all of the toughest, scariest, and most romantic and exciting adventures which have happened so far in the Land of Stories. The 'Story Bureau' gives each of the same-named lads a 'beginning' and sends them off to complete the tales through their adventures. When the brothers fail to return home, the Bureau sends Tom a letter on the morning of his 12th birthday, summoning him to find his siblings. Through the third-person narrative that follows the various brothers, readers learn that the Jacks have been kidnapped by Julius Ormestone, the writer whose task is to create the Bureau's story openings and who is tired of the adventurers getting all the credit.
Ian Beck has incorporated humorous associations to many famous fairy tale characters like Snow White and the seven dwarfs, Cinderella, the frog-prince and Rapunzel and the whole story culminates in a final showdown at the giant's palace atop a beanstalk.
