Our dearest Meghann Fahy has scored yet another lead role as she will topline SMOKESHOW series based on a novel by Catriona Stewart to be produced by David E. Kelley. As Deadline reports, part thriller, part dark romantic comedy, the new series centers on a covert operative, Rory (Fahy), who becomes entangled with her target, the charming and devastatingly earnest Nolan. Rory must then choose between the life she’s known and the chance to break free. 

 

NEW MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS AT STAN

Twenty-five years since Tess and Claire McLeod first graced Australian screens, MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS is set to return. A lot has happened since Australia last visited Drovers Run, but what hasn’t changed is the landscape and the uplifting spirit of the strong, resilient women navigating life on the land alongside the challenges of finding love and connection in the modern world. The series starts this November

 on Stan in Australia. Based on the novel by Karin Slaughter, the drama centers on sisters Charlotte (Meghann Fahy) and Samantha (Rose Byrne), who have spent the last 20 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte, a lawyer like her father, is the first witness on the scene. As the case unfolds and twists through painful memories and buried secrets, what emerges is not just a story of survival, but of enduring ties between a father, his daughters and the complex bond between sisters. Brendan Gleeson, Jake McDorman and Olivia Williams also star.

Ben Reeves' book will become a movie

A bunch of new book adaptations today for you, starting with Marc Turletaub who will helm movie adaptation of Ben Reeves novel EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL AND NOTHING HURT which tells the story of Travis, who lives with his cat in a small, gray town. His job is to offer people comfort in their final hours of life, which he does without complaint or judgment. But when Travis meets Dalia, a midwife, and her boisterous eight-year-old daughter Layla, who live across the hall, he begins to understand what it means to be truly alive and what might be irrevocably lost in death. No news on the possible stars yet, but stay tuned, we will continue following the project.

 

THE BODYGUARD OR GUARDING STARS
