FIRST LEO SUTER
BritBox has sent us the first trailer for their four part adaptation of Elizabeth George's Inspector LYNLEY novels in which our dearest Leo Suter takes the lead role with Sofia Barclay
as DS Barbara Havers.
Lynley is a brilliant detective who's something of an outsider because
of his aristocratic upbringing. Havers comes from a working class
background, and she's more of an instinct-driven maverick. Though they
have little in common and they don't always get along, they learn to work together to help get justice for victims of
horrific crimes. Check out the first trailer below the post and tell us what you think, will you be tuning in? In other TV news today, Gilded Age has been renewed for season 4 and Bergerac and Eric Banas Untamed for season 2.

WHO IS IN THE CAST?
Daniel Mays
will play DCI Brian Nies, the astute, suspicious Senior Detective at
Three Counties Major Incident Team, whose aversion to Lynley is
partly
born of his own insecurities about class and partly because he knows
he’s no longer the smartest person in the room. Niamh Walsh stars
as Helen
Clyde, an estate agent and Lynley’s former Oxford classmate
whose romance with Lynley is sparked when their paths fatefully cross on
a case; Michael
Workeye as tech specialist Tony Bekele; and Joshua Sher as forensic scientist, Simon St. James. The series will stream on BritBox in USA
September 4th and BBC One in UK this Autumn. Each of the four episodes of the new mini series will be a TV film of 90 minutes.

Me gusta el suspenso. Tomó nota. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you gusta it.
DeleteThis is exciting news for fans of Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley novels! A four-part adaptation with Leo Suter as Lynley and Sofia Barclay as DS Barbara Havers is a promising new take, especially with the 90-minute TV film format for each episode. The casting of Daniel Mays as DCI Brian Nies also adds a great dynamic to the team.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that BritBox is airing it in the USA before the BBC in the UK this autumn.
Are you looking forward to seeing how Leo Suter portrays Lynley's aristocratic background conflicting with Havers' working-class roots, and how that impacts their partnership?
It was originally ordered by BritBox, BBC joined them later on. I am not a fan of detective series, but I adore Leo, so I will be checking this one out, he is just too cute not to watch, even though I don't like the female lead. But there is Niamh Walsh in it, and I love her.
DeleteThanks for sharing, Dezmond.
DeleteBe welcome, Melody.
DeleteWatched the older version of Lynley...not really impressed. Hope this one is better.
ReplyDeleteShould be with Leolicious in the lead.
DeleteI liked the older adaptation - but as the old saying goes 'twould be a dull world if we all thought the same.
DeleteHope you will like the new one as well.
DeleteDoesn't look half bad. We do love Leo, so I'd give it a watch.
ReplyDeleteLeolicious is everything.
