POPPA'S HOUSE SITCOM
ORDERED OVER AT CBS
CBS has given an official order to new multicam sitcom POPPA'S HOUSE which will be saved probably for the mid season next year. Damon Wayans plays legendary talk radio host and happily divorced Poppa, who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, played by Damon Wayans Jr., a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.
Essence Atkins and Tetona Jackson are also in the lead cast.
While I love Anthony Hopkins, I'm not sure this is for me. I watched Solace not too long ago and that movie I loved. I think I like him in Thrillers or horror movies mostly.
ReplyDeleteI think he will be great as an emperor
DeleteIt's nice to see Anthony's still working.
ReplyDeleteHe is back from the dead.
DeleteWe are hearing a lot about the Wayans family a lot lately. Are they just unable to stick with a project long term, or are they victims of the cancel culture?
ReplyDeleteNo, I was just announcing this one for a long time LOL But they did have cancellations, Marlon's sitcom MARLON ended after two seasons and Junior's HAPPY TOGETHER after the first one. I am currently finishing that one and it is quite nice don't know why it was cancelled. I am looking forwards to POPPA'S HOUSE especially as it is on CBS where it has less chances to be killed prematurely if they put it on Monday nights or something. Sadly, due to strike, we probably won't have any new or returning sitcoms from September if it does not end soon and it probably won't. But since they go protesting from one studio and set to another stopping productions of dozens of shows already, maybe it will... Power to the people!
DeleteThat's too bad that both Marlon and Junior had cancellations. The whole family is just adorable. I think Poppa's House could be fun. And if all else fails, at least we can always watch them in White Chicks. I swear, I get sucked into that movie every time I see it playing.
DeleteIt is interesting that Essence Atkins, if I remember well, played Marlon's wife in his sitcom and was lovely in it, so it is nice to see she 'stayed' in the family and is now moving onto the Damon Junior LOL Wayanses have good taste for women beside being hot themselves.
DeleteAmazing that Anthony Hopkins is still so active at his age...
ReplyDeleteHe is just an 85 years old kid LOL I'd return from pension for an imperial role myself.
