TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ
ANNOUNCES LEAD CAST
Sky and Peacock have set cast for their TV series adaptation of TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ which tells the true-life story of Lale Sokolov (Jonah Hauer King), a Jewish prisoner who is given the job of tattooing identification numbers on fellow prisoners’ arms in the concentration camp. One day, he meets Gita (Anna Prochniak) when tattooing her prisoner number on her arm. They experience love at first sight, and so begins a courageous, unforgettable, and human story, told through one man’s memory and experience of Auschwitz-Birkenau; a tale of the very best of humanity in the very worst of circumstances. Jonas Nay and Melanie Lynskey will also star.
HENRY CAVILL'S NEW FILM
PIC WITH HENRY GOLDING, ALEX PETTYFER, TIL SCHWEIGER
I have already told you that beside Henry Cavill in the lead role Guy Richie's THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFAREwill also have Alex Pettyfer, Til Schweiger, Cary Elwes, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Alan Ritchson and Henry Golding and now we have the first photo from it.
The true story covers Winston Churchill’s and Ian Fleming’s secret WWII
combat organization. The clandestine squad’s unconventional and
‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis helped change the
course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.

IN THE SECOND SEASON
Alina Starkov is on the run. A beacon of hope to some and
a suspected traitor to others, she’s determined to bring down the
Shadow Fold and save Ravka from ruin. But General Kirigan has returned
to finish what he started. Backed by a terrifying new army of seemingly
indestructible shadow monsters and fearsome new Grisha recruits, Kirigan
is more dangerous than ever.
To stand a fighting chance against him, Alina and Mal rally their own
powerful new allies and begin a continent-spanning journey to find two
mythical creatures that will amplify her powers. Back in Ketterdam, the
Crows must forge new alliances as they contend with old rivals and even
older grudges that threaten not only their place in the Barrel, but
their very lives.
When a chance at a deadly heist comes their way, the Crows will once
again find themselves on a collision course with the legendary Sun
Summoner.
I am not a fan of fantasy films or series. Might give THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE a chance as I like Til Schweiger.
ReplyDeleteIt has a rather lovely cast unlike most of the other movies shooting these days.
DeleteLooking forward to the Ministry. Lovely cast, but how could they pull a project with no women and no Blacks in it? The only diversity in the film is provided by Henry Golding.
ReplyDeleteYes, they added the Asian factor to diversify themselves LOL I wouldn't mind being diversified by Golding myself so I ain't complainin' LOL I'm sure, though, there will be blacks and ladies in the supporting cast.
DeleteSo they can whine about being cast in secondary roles. I loved Henry in Crazy Rich Asians.
DeleteHe was nice in most of the films I watched with him and I love that he is bisexual, that is so very cute about him.
DeleteI have The Tattooist on the first page of my books to borrow from the library. Better get that one checked out or at least on hold since I'm sure now that the series is coming out, there will be a long wait for the book.
ReplyDeleteMost probably it will.
DeleteI'm looking forward to Shadow and Bone since I liked the first season.
ReplyDeleteGlad you did, I thought it was terrible because of the lead actress, but I will probably see the second season as well as it has a lot of hot hunks.
DeleteI quite like the sound of the Cavill film.
ReplyDeleteShould be super fun especially with that cast.
DeleteI didn't know The Tatooist was Peacock (which I had just gotten. My Luck!) . I didn't know Jonah Hauer was playing the lead. I thought he was busy with World on Fire Season 2. He is Jewish but doesn't look like one (then, neither do I). He's not bad looking but has this depressed face , always seems in the verge of tears.
ReplyDeleteI thought you would get Apple?
DeleteHe is getting typecast, don't know why they would cast him again in a WW2 series, it is ridiculous. Probably does not have any other job to choose from.
We are kind of poor this wwinter, so no Apple so far. But it turned out that my brother was already subscribing to Peacock and Paramount + so we are sharing them. I spoke about Jonah's typecasting in FB, but a) I think it has to do with the plethora of WWII stuff that lately is coming to the big and small screens. B), I think he is best remembered for Little Women and The Little Mermaid
DeleteApple has Those About to Die, right? That one has started shooting in Italy and I hear the budget will be $140 million, making it one of the most expensive series ever!
DeleteAlex Pettyfer, huh? He kind of disappeared for a while.
ReplyDeleteHe had a problem with Channing Tatum who hates him, but he did star in numerous films and series
