'THE STORM IN THE STARS'
A bit of Oscars, a bit of indie movies today, starting with the info on young Ben Hardy (Angel in X MEN: APOCALYPSE) joining the ensemble cast of Haifaa Mansour's drama THE STORM IN THE STARS! Douglas Booth is portraying a famous Romantic poet in this big screen dramatization of the love affair between poet Percy Shelley and 18-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft — who will later on become famous Mary Shelley that wrote legendary novel 'Frankenstein'! Elle Fanning is taking the lead female role, with Bel Powley also in the cast.
OSCARS 2016 RED CARPET
THE BEST DRESSED STARS
Yep, I agree with you, people, Oscars 2016 were probably the worst I ever remember . Almost all of them went to wrong hands. And fashion didn't vow us either. Who were your red carpet faves? I wasn't impressed by anyone, but I think Lady Gaga (you can see a lighter version of her outfit below at Vanity Fair party), Cate Blanchett in her flowery Armani gown, beautifully pregnant Crissy Tiegen, Saoirse Ronan in emerald green as her Ireland, and Sofia Vergara stood out.

'LOUDER THAN BOMBS' TRAILER
STARRING GABRIEL BYRNE AND JESSE EISENBERG
Our Monday trailer is the first one for festival movie from Joachim Trier LOUDER THAN BOMBS which follows Gene (Gabriel Byrne) and his sons Jonah and Conrad (Jesse Eisenberg and Devin Druid) two years after the death of their wife and mother Isabelle (Isabelle Huppert), an internationally celebrated photographer. As Gene takes the first steps toward a new relationship, Jonah has just had a baby of his own. Meanwhile, Conrad is a typically alienated teenager.
I liked Lady Gaga' outfit very much, also Sofia Vergara's gown.
ReplyDeleteit is interesting how Gaga's outfit had three versions, the red carpet one, the performance one and then the party one, three in one
DeleteThe Irish were robbed!
ReplyDeletetotally! Saoirse and Fassy! Funny how we live in the world in which prissy capricosso gets an Oscar and Fassy, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law don't....
DeleteCate's is very pretty
ReplyDeletelike a spring wind indeed
DeleteI think Cate is on everyone's best dressed list, as she should be.
ReplyDeleteyes, she was strangely lovely and beautiful, and feminine. Recently she's been wearing very artsy and clumsy outfits.
DeleteCate Blanchett first (naturally) then Lady Gaga - her dress was spectacular.
ReplyDeleteand her performance even more spectacular
DeleteI think through the awards the Oscars made their thoughts very clear. Just my two cents. I really enjoyed the Louder than bombs trailer.
ReplyDeleteYes, that they're giving out awards to mediocre actors :(
DeleteDays like this I think I have to turn in my girl card. I so don't care what anyone was wearing to the Oscars. But I find I'm in the minority.
ReplyDeletepffft you're just angry nobody wore anything knitted :)
DeleteThese awards ceremonies are such a joke anymore. I am so sick of them using the stage to push their agendas. Lets stick with passing awards based on merit, and when you win, humbly say thank you to those who helped get you there and move on.
ReplyDeleteexactly. The reason I don't watch them anymore. And this year all of the awards went to the wrong hands, like all of them.
DeleteI haven't watched awards shows in ages, but I like to see the gowns later. I don't see too many here that wow me. I do like Lady Gaga's dress.
ReplyDeleteit was a very poor year, both in awards and in fashion
DeleteI never watch those award shows but I'm not even overly impressed by those above. They're gorgeous but the usual flare is missing, except for Tiegen.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very weird year.
DeleteI've never seen enough of the movies to make watching the Oscars worthwhile :) Lady Gaga sure knows how to make a statement! :)
ReplyDeleteshe was the absolute thrill of the evening, the only one, actually, can't believe that whiny Sam Smith won the Oscar for that mediocre crap of Bond song over her song above.
DeleteUm...
ReplyDeletemeans brain in Serbian
DeleteThis time I DID know that!
Deleteyou learned from the best
