THE RISE OF A NATION
In 1836, if west of the Mississippi was considered the Wild West then Texas was hell on earth. Crushed from the outside by Mexican armadas and attacked from within by ferocious Comanche tribes, no one was safe. But this was a time of bravery, a time to die for what you believed in and a time to stand tall against the cruel rule of the Mexican General Santa Anna. From General Sam Houston to rag tag Rangers to the legendary “Yellow Rose of Texas” — TEXAS RISING will bring a story of the human spirit rising in the face of insurmountable odds and claiming a piece of history for all eternity!

Thanks for the info on Texas Rising. My aunt will certainly like it.
ReplyDeleteshould be a popular one over in USA!
DeleteDo these people ever tire of war, and retelling of war?
ReplyDeleteI'm in the wrong place.
I wonder that too... I tend not to watch series on American history
DeleteMe either, any more. Even current events are tainted. ;p
Deleteyep, those too, I'd never watch a series on current American politics either
DeleteHollywood may be boring on the movie front, but TV is looking good. LOL, poor Dixie; I love war movies. All that bravery, and sometimes stupidity.
ReplyDeleteI confess, I liked the 'shirtless one.'
Deletethere's also a scene in which he is full nude in a lake :)
DeleteSo my choice is blood and gut wars, or heart attack!! ha ha
Deletean obvious choice, methinks
DeleteThe Poldark reboot looks great. Aidan, wow! Kudos to BBC & PBS. Can't wait until June.
ReplyDeletedid they set the date for June?
DeleteThese look interesting, especially Texas Rising.
ReplyDeleteshould be epic... both of them
DeleteMan, you just can go away and fight in a war without everything changing back home AND your gal stepping out on you!
ReplyDeleteand loosing all your fortunes too... and a best friend methinks.....
DeleteYowza. I do like that Aidan Turner. Will be watching Poldark. :D
ReplyDeleteit will air in USA too, and WOLF HALL as well, it has been sold to PBS Masterpiece, methinks
DeleteLots of manly movies coming up!
ReplyDeletethose are series not movies :) POLDARK is totally for the ladies, by the way :)
DeletePoldark has potential. I do like Aidan Turner.
ReplyDeleteisn't he wonderfully shirtless in that one scene?
DeleteNice to see Brendan Fraser in something again. Looks awfully violent though. Think I'll stick to Ragnar and Season 3 of Vikings instead. More civilized.
ReplyDeleteyep, I'd skip both of those that you mentioned :) But it is interesting seeing Brendan as Native American
DeleteTexas Rising sounds like something for my husband. Not me, but if he must see it, I'll be nice and let him ;)
ReplyDeleteso very generous of you :)
DeleteI try. I try ;)
Delete;)
DeleteThose are the only promo photos available for Texas Rising so far? I can't imagine they'd only have four when there's other major characters.
ReplyDeleteonly those four are circling around the net so far :( We wanted to find more, but there weren't any :(
DeleteBill Paxton is the spitting image of James Garner in that image.
ReplyDeleteis he?
DeleteTexas Rising? Sounds very good!
ReplyDeleteyou do love your battles, Phil :)
DeleteTexas Rising is right up my mommy's alley. I'm texting her right now!!!
ReplyDeletehope she will enjoy it!
DeleteMore great trailers. That Texas Rising sure had a hodgepodge of images in it. Funny that the cry to battle include some naked lady in a tub with a guy. Didn't seem to fit except as a lure. Typical.
ReplyDeleteyep, every show these days has to have some nudity.... at least in USA
DeleteThe guy was Bill Paxton (Sam Houston) and the lady was Emily West (played by Cynthia Addai Robinson). There will be a romance in the show. I agree though the scene was put in there to entice audiences. Certainly grabbed my attention.
Deleteyou won't see us complaining :)
DeleteLooking forward to seeing Texas Rising. I love Ray Liotta.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear it, Turtle!
DeletePoldark looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteagreed
DeletePoldark looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute... GALLIPOLI..... and now POLdark?
ReplyDeleteit's a poltastic week
DeleteTexas rising sounds like something my Dad would like. Too bad for him he's dead, that son of a gun.
Deletedoes that make you the son of the son of a gun? A little gun? A gunlett :)
DeleteHaha I guess it does. Maybe I should suppress the thought of being the son of a son of a gun.
