Diego Moreno as he rises from humble origins as an orphaned teen to become an infamous masked hero. HOLLYWOOD SPY has reported before that a sf movie ZORRO REBORN is also in works with Gael Garcia Bernal. In the updated movie version, the Mexican hero will be set into a post apocalyptic era where the masked vigilante will seek revenge in a futuristic wasteland. The funny thing is that Sony is also planning to adapt Isabella Allende's novel which reveals the history behind the legendary masked man, from being born as a son of an aristocratic Spanish military man turned landowner and a Shoshone female warrior, and growing up as a witness of the brutal injustices dealt to Native Americans by European settlers, to being a student in Napoleonic Spain, and fighting pirates at the sea.

DEZZY'S CHRISTMAS MAGIC
And please don't forget that later tonight USA time, DEZZY'S CHRISTMAS MAGIC will be posted over at NO, REALLY YOU CAN EAT IT blog :) I'm guest posting there with my cake recipes. I expect your comments there, my little freaks!
Don't knock Smoke and Bone until you've read it. It was one of the best books I've read in the last 2 years and I am eager to devour the sequel. It is also beautifully written and far more than your average angel vs demon story. The author was a National Book Award finalist for Lips Touch: Three Times. Not so sure if Smoke & Bone will adapt well to a movie though.
ReplyDeleteI do not base my opinion on this on the quality of writing but on the genre which feeds young people with such horrid things - demons and dark angels being sexy and attractive, kids and teens fighting and being warriors.... deeply irresponsible.
DeleteI understand.
Deletethank you
DeleteI can usually handle another Zorro adaptation. It's like Robin Hood, it just keeps being reinvented. :)
ReplyDeleteand the big plus is that we love both Zorro's and Robin's costume :)
DeleteI was gonna say...the cape and mask are kind of hot. :)
Deleteyes, gotta tell that to your hubs, Luanne, he might get some pleasant ideas :)
DeletePlease!!! NO more bad smurf movies!
ReplyDeletethese films are made for families with kids
DeleteWhich politician gave them directions? I could come up with a fairly substantial list for that one. I'm quite certain that Chancellor Merkel has a flat there and that she visits with Margaret Thatcher where they drink tea and eat the souls of children on a Sunday afternoon.
DeleteOf course you will have my comment over at Mel's place darling. Been looking forward to it :)
indeed and Tony Blair is Devil's pet boy. While Madlen Albright and Hilary Clinton are his nannies, which is why devil is the devil after being raised by such evil.
DeleteHope I won't disappoint with CHRISTMAS MAGIC, Anne, I did use couple of old recipes, since, due to reasons you only know, I haven't baked at all for months.
Hilary was in Ireland recently. The land died where her feet touched the ground.
DeleteYou won't disappoint darling, it will be splendid. I know why you can't bake now and I hope that can be changed for the better before too much longer.
horrid, hope your Christian priests sprinkled the roads she travelled with holy water to cleanse them out. She was here in Belgrade earlier this year too and the whole city was closed as if someone important was coming. Imagine coming on a state visit to a country you personally bombed and destroyed. She will burn in hell even though I don't believe in heaven and hell.
DeleteAhhh... The Smurfs :) I haven't thought of them in years - I used to love watching them with my kids - they are adorable.
ReplyDeletetotally adorable :) The world needs more of such cute creatures in cinemas :)
DeleteNow if they never touch or remake the classic with George Hamilton's "Zorro: The Gay Blade"... now that is a great film.
ReplyDeletewhat, what? Why wasn't my Imperial Naughtiness informed of such a glorious classic???
Deletehere is the info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083366/
Deleteyou tube has a lot to see...
oh, dear, now I'm kinda sorry I read the plot of the film :) An angel died when that film was shot, methinks...
Deleteno it's a classic... trust me... well believe that i found it funny... or the fact that i told you so...
Deleteyou know what's also funny? George Hamilton's son Ashley marrying Shannen Doherty back in the 90s :P
DeleteI was more a fan of the writing of Daughter of Smoke and Bone than the actual story. I can see it being visually splendid as a movie, though.
ReplyDeletethen you might enjoy the film when it hits cinemas, Lynda
Deleteah, but story is everything!
DeleteZorro and smurfs movies I can bear dear DezzY ~
ReplyDeleteI laugh at your comments about the way to hell..he..he...~
Will check over the recipes at the other blog ~
glad I made you laugh, Heaven :) and hope you will like the recipes later tonight :)
DeleteKaty Perry was BORN to play Smurfette!
ReplyDeleteshe does like blue colour and has the voice :)
DeleteIf NPH is in something, I'm gonna see it! =)
ReplyDeleteAnd your post is live and running and by the way, did I say THANK YOU yet??? Well THANK YOU!!!!!!
and can you make it snow on my page too???
DeleteI will pop over to answer the comments and will put the link on Facebook and Tweeter :)
DeleteWill send you the code for snow at Facebook.
"I wonder which politician gave them the directions?"
ReplyDeleteLOL. But not sure I'll be watching of these. I'd rather head out and read your post.
.......dhole
Hope you like the post, Donnzie :))
DeleteAnother Smurf movie? I thought the first one did terrible. ._.
ReplyDeletenope, it was a huge hit worldwide :) People like to watch it with their kids and families
DeleteI just came back from Mel's and loved your post, Dezz! I hope everyone here takes the time to check it out. I've always been a fan of your recipes since I saw them on Facebook but I never realized how talented you are when it comes to decorating - you got it all!! Great guest post.
ReplyDeleteglad you liked it, Elsie, I will pop over there now to answer all the comments and see how other people responded :)
DeleteAnd I have to say that for those two recipes pictures were taken when I was making the cakes for my own house, I decorate them prettier when making them for other people and customers :)
Good, I'll see if she has had time to release moderation yet. =)
DeleteI just love how you decorate, in your home, your cakes, on your blog. It's a gift. I don't have that talent with a fine eye for detail like that. That shows you have a lot of patience.
You would be surprised, Elsie, that those things (From blog graphics, to cake and interior design) come to me in seconds, I don't plan much. I like when things like that flow out of me, the same as in writing :)
DeleteI still need to see the first smurfs
ReplyDeleteit was a fun little movie, Adam
DeleteWow! I love your blog! And I'm wondering why I haven't come across this gem sooner! I'll def. be sharing your site. I love that it's everything Hollywood-ish. :) And now you've got me thinking about Zorro! I'm wondering who will play him and I can't think of any good Zorro types off the top of my head! Hopefully you'll have a Zorro reveal.. Thanks for popping in over at my place and I'm now "stalking" you! :D
ReplyDeleteyou can beat on it that HOLLYWOOD SPY will have the scoop on the ZORRO casting :) I see Joe Manganiello in it... in my dreams...
DeleteHope you will stalk us on a daily basis!
I'm with you on the oh Puhleeze. That movie sounds like a total angsty crapfest.
ReplyDeleteZorro in East L.A. sounds like a cliche and a bad stereotype.
we will accept the Zorro remake if they cast a mighty hunk in the role :)
