Channel 4 has already aired this one over in Britain and I actually finished watching it earlier this week and can tell you that it is probably the best period set series of the year so far, but I wanted to inform you today that it will start streaming for the audiences in USA and Canada on BritBox as of June 24th and you do not want to miss it. With Brenda Blethyn as the lead it is the reboot of A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE  based on Barbara Taylor Bradford's novel with Jessica Reynolds playing the younger version. She’s a real mentor and inspiration to her students, but what she lacks is a properly functioning marriage with real intimacy and mutual desire. This leads her into an impulsive affair with a fellow colleague that at first answers all her needs, but soon spirals out of control. When a pupil goes missing on a school trip, Dani rightly blames herself for being too easily distracted. When things start to take a sinister turn she is forced to lie, and quickly finds her life falling to pieces. She risks everything to right the wrongs that she has, in part, been responsible for. Will Mellor and Emmett Scanlan will play her husband and her lover in the four parter which starts September 9th.

We also have first images from their new 6 part thriller THE WIVES. Last year, four sisters-in-law and their families escaped to their Maltese holiday apartments, as they’ve done every summer for 15 years. Sylvie Morgan (Tamzin Outhwaite), was happily married, Natasha Morgan (Angela Griffin), was swimming in wealth, and Beth Morgan (Jo Joyner) and Annabelle Morgan (Christine Bottomley), were thick as thieves. ITV has sent us a trailer for their new mini TV series MR BATES VS THE POST OFFICE based on a true story which should arrive to the small screens January 1st to 4th. The series, which stars Toby Jones, Will Mellor,  Adam James and Alex Jennings, tells the story of how hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft and false accounting due to a defective IT system. Over the four episodes, the  show will track how many of the wronged postal workers were prosecuted and some were imprisoned, while also dramatising the landmark Court of Appeal decision which saw their criminal convictions overturned, and the continuing fight for justice.

Straight from Cannes we have the first image of Benoit Magimel and Nadia Tereskiewitz in ROSALIE movie. Rosalie is a young woman in the France of 1870 but she is not a young woman like the others, she hides a secret: since her birth, her face and her body have been covered with hair. She is what is called a bearded woman but never wanted to become a vulgar fairground phenomenon. For fear of being rejected, she was always forced to shave. Now I know that both of these look delightfully trashy and cheap, but I figured we could all use us a Viking or two or three.... I'm sure you will all agree :) THE LOST VIKING is actually out next week on DVD! Directed and written by Emmet Cummins it stars gorgeous Dean Ridge as the Viking who dreams of adventure. The cast also includes Ross O’Hennessy, Kezia Burrows, James Groom, Ian Virgo, Dan Styles and others.

THE LOST VIKING is actually  a young Viking called Vitharr who arrives in Britain with dreams of conquest and adventure, but when his family and clan are ambushed and killed, he must survive alone in this strange,dangerous new land as he searches for his Uncle's settlement.

A bit more richer and with at least some known names in the cast is another Viking adventure VIKING DESTINY which was both written and directed by David L.G.
