CAST PHOTOS RELEASED!

One of the first of the new shows to arrive to the small screens in the new Autumn season is Kurt Sutter's epic series THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER which will swing its sword at FX next  Tuesday, September 15th! Today, you can check out cast photos from the series set in the early 14th century, about a knight in King Edward I’s army who is broken by the horrors of war and vows to lay down his weapon. But when violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all: an executioner's sword. With the cast lead by newcomer Lee Jones, the guest stars will include Matthew Rhys and Ed Sheeran. There were rumours last week that FX is looking to buy the bankrupt Wales studio so that the series can continue shooting at the Welsh sets in possible new seasons too.

WILKIN BRATTLE
Is played by Lee Jones: A former warrior knight broken by the ravages of war, Wilkin vows to lay down his sword for a simple agrarian life. But when his idyllic new world is shattered by a cruel English Lord, Wilkin is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all: that of the executioner.

MILUS CORBETT

Is played by Stephen Moyer: Ventris’s sly and ambitious right-hand man, Milus shrewdly influences the law of the land as Ventrishire’s Chamberlain, the Baron's most trusted advisor and strategist.

BARONESS LADY LOVE
Is played by Flora Spencer-Longhurst: Born into Welsh nobility, Lady Love is as beautiful and kind as she is cunning, though her sympathy for her countrymen often conflicts with her noble rule over her fiefdom, Ventrishire.

TORAN PRICHARD

Is played by Sam Spruell: A strong but cynical Welsh farmer, Toran is Wilkin’s closest friend. He is forever loyal to his countrymen and will fight at whatever cost to protect them from noble abuses of power.

ISABEL KIFFIN
Is played by Sarah White: Shy and innocent, Isabel was Lady Love’s childhood companion and now remains her personal handmaiden and loyal confidant. She is the closest thing Lady Love has to a sister.

PETRA BRATTLE

Is played by Elen Rhys: A simple, yet divine beauty, Petra is Wilkin’s wife who reluctantly supports his fight against the brutal taxation of their Baron, fearing for him and their unborn baby’s future.

FATHER RUSKIN
Is played by Timothy V. Murphy: Priest and teacher of the Ventrishire court, Ruskin, a former Irish soldier who swapped the blade for the Bible. He is Lady Love’s counsellor and confidant.

Just two epic TV updates for you today, people, beginning with the first poster for FX's upcoming new historical series THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER which is bringing medieval weaponry to the small screens from September 15th! FX has also released a number of promo teasers for the new show and I'm showing you two of them below.

 Coming from Kurt Sutter (SONS OF ANARCHY), the ten episode historical action series THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER tells the story of a warrior knight (Lee Jones) in King Edward The Thirds charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all: an executioner's sword. Part of the plot will deal with fallout from the Madog ap Llywelyn Welsh rebellion! Stephen Moyer, Matthew Rhys and Ed Sheeran are also in the cast!

 'WESTWORLD' TRAILER

Meanwhile, HBO has released the first teaser trailer for their own epic series, sf western WESTWORLD which boasts a rather stellar cast lead by Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro and Ben Barnes! The story is set in a futuristic amusement park in which androids play people of the Wild West without knowing that they aren't real people! It is described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin!

TARSEM DIRECTS, OLIVER JACKSON COHEN JOINS THE CAST

Well, I really can't give you a more superb news than this: our favourite director, visual genius Tarsem (THE CELL, THE FALL, IMMORTALS, MIRROR MIRROR) will helm all ten episodes of NBC's new fantasy series EMERALD CITY and what's even better our dearest Oliver Jackson Cohen (DRACULA, WORLD WITHOUT END, GREAT FIRE) has just joined Adria Arjona who is playing a 20-year-old Dorothy Gale and her K9 police dog are transported via tornado to another world, one far removed from our own — a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a battle for supremacy.

Here's a wonderfully sounding story and an equally wonderful cast: Jeremy Irvine, Tom Wilkinson, Jessica Brown Findlay and Andrew Scott have all joined Simon Aboud's THE BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC a contemporary fairy tale revolving around the unlikely friendship between a reclusive young woman with dreams of being a children’s book author and a cantankerous widower, set against the backdrop of a beautiful garden in the heart of London. Bella Brown (Jessica Findlay) is a beautifully quirky young woman who dreams of writing and illustrating a successful children’s book. Good news coming from our fave epic genre: FX has officially ordered BASTARD EXECUTIONER into ten episodes epic series from Kurt Sutter (SONS OF ANARCHY) and you can check out the first photos I've found around the web. The historical adventure will star super dashing Lee Jones as a great warrior knight for King Edward I, who must return to the battle after putting down his sword and pledging he won't be back. To air this Autumn, it also stars Stephen Moyer, Sam Spruell and Matthew Rhys!

We had quite a good week when it comes to the epic genre which is the focus of the spy's work, so let's end it in that light with the news coming from TNT: they will prepare a pilot for BASTARD EXECUTIONER historical series about a 13th century warrior knight (stunning newcomer Australian actor Lee Jones) in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all. The tall, dark and imposing Wilkin Brattle is emotionally deep, spiritually tortured former knight in the charge of King Edward I now lives a simple agrarian life.

The cast will also include Stephen Moyer as an ex army marshal who now serves as Chamberlain, Chancellor and Justiciar. And a trailer to cheer you up and warm your hearts is the first one for THE LADY IN THE VAN with the most delightful performance from always brilliant Maggie Smith! In the movie, which is out this November in UK based on true events, she plays a homeless lady who lives her old years in an old van. Alex Jennings plays the real-life playwriter Alan Bennett, who offered the pensioner temporary residence on his property during the '70s and '80s but she then ended up staying for 15 years. Dominic Cooper, Jim Broadbent and James Corden also star!
