Black people at the time already on high society?
ReplyDeleteAnd dressed like millionaires from Paris LOL Admittedly, these are not from high society, the black girl is the secretary to Kristine Baranski character, but her parents to own a business, because at that time black people had freedom in the North as this is after the civil war. It is all far fetched, of course, but they needed diversity in the cast.
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata
Costumes were better in the first season, in the second one they went over the top and made them ridiculous and even ugly, hope they will find a better balance in the third season, but they do all look like they have billions of dollars for dressing.
DeleteI did put this one on my queue because you said it wasn't half bad and Nixon wasn't an annoying broad. I haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet, but I am hoping I'll have a little free time this month or next to start in on it.
ReplyDeleteIt has its flaws, but is generally a joy to watch if you can ignore some of the annoying characters. And Nixons character is truly the most likeable in the series, in this season after being the quiet sister, she finally has a change of fortune and takes over the house from her grumpy sister Baranski which creates comical scenes.
DeleteI hadn't even heard about this series. Interesting. Might have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIt has been on for three years now LOL It is nice to watch, carefree fun and visually beautiful.
