JUDE LAW'S 'THE THIRD DAY'
Earlier this summer I informed you that British Sky and HBO are continuing their collaboration and have hired Jude Law to lead their new mystery island mini series THE THIRD DAY and now they've added new cast members: Paddy Considine, Emily Watson and Katherine Waterston as Jess, a woman who Sam encounters on the island. The series, which will air next year, should start shooting this summer.
THE SIX EPISODE SERIES
will see Jude Law playing Sam, who is being drawn to a mysterious island off the British Coast and thrown into the unusual world of its secretive inhabitants. Isolated from the mainland, the rituals of the island begin to overwhelm him, and he is confronted by a trauma from his past. As the line between reality and
fantasy
blurs, Sam finds himself immersed in an emotional quest that puts him at
odds with the islanders and begins to threaten their way of life.

I hope there is paganism or something at the heart of this. Sort of like the original "Wicker Man"
ReplyDeleteYa mean Emily could be a witch?
DeleteIslands are usually associated with isolation and mysteries. That makes them an interesting setting. An island-based plot is seldom boring, and if the cast is good then the movie or the mini-series becomes a hit.
ReplyDeleteAnother type of place we wouldn't wanna live on :)
DeleteI just wanted you to know that Lucy died this past Monday. I haven’t been reading or writing blogs very well but I thought you would like to know.
ReplyDeleteOh, such sad news, I know you had a feeling she will leave you, but still....
DeleteDoes Jude Law ever slow down? I actually would love to live in a little island. I’m okay with the occasional spookiness and mystery that comes with it. The heat, too, but not this god-aweful heat we’ve experienced in Philly. As soon as we step outside, the sweat just starts rolling off our bodies. Poor Jason is in hell here.
ReplyDeleteI sympathise with Jason, you know he and me are the same weatherwise! Hope you are having a nice time, deary, we're missing you something terrible!
